GDC 10: PlayStation Move and Sub-Controller Photo Gallery

You could spend hours reading about the technological innovations and the gameplay possibilities of the Playstation Move, but, let's face it, no one knows whether they'll like it until they actually try it --It's an experiential thing. Sony has seemingly recognized this, and will give everyone a chance to try out the device in September. According to anonymous sources who spoke to gaming site Destructoid, Best Buy, Walmart and perhaps other stores will be gifted with Move kiosks beginning on September 11 and ending in January.

There will be specially trained personnel on-hand to show customers how the system works as well as answer Move related questions... speaking of which, are you looking for work for the holidays? Reportedly,  local sales and marketing teams are hiring right now, and I'll bet you already have the basic gaming knowledge needed to do the job. It sounds like it could be a lot fun, no?

When the PlayStation Move launches in the U.S., the $99 bundle will come with Move controller, an EyeToy camera, and a copy of Sports Champion, a compilation of Move-centered sports titles. In the U.K., though, Britons will be enjoying a similarly priced bundle, but with a key difference. It will come with a sampler-pack of nine motion games instead of one title.

Echochrome II Comic-Con 2010 Hands-On Preview

If you thought that the PlayStation Move was only for punching your friends and neighbors in the face or racing as a delicious young Japanese woman in an office chair, think again. There's a higher level of thought at work in Echochrome II, and it's going to require a whole lot of thought on your part if you want to be good at it.

Comic-Con 2010: Kung Fu Rider Preview

Leave it up to Stephen “Love Me Some Weirdness” Johnson to track down and bring you a Comi-Con 2010 preview of Sony’s upcoming downloadable title Kung Fu Rider. Not only does the game apparently have little to nothing to do with kung fu fighting, but it also appears to encourage hurdling down city streets on office chairs. Throw in PlayStation Move support, and you have one odd concoction. Isn’t that right, Steve?

“Yes, that's a totally preposterous idea for a game, but it's got a loopy charm that cannot be denied. The action and characters are so cartoonish and silly, if it doesn't make you laugh and/or shake your head and say 'What the hell?' you don't have a soul.”

Read Steve’s full Kung Fu Rider Comic-Con 2010 preview to see what else makes this downloadable title has going for it.

E3 2010: The Sly Collection PS3 Screenshots

I love the Sly Cooper games. In their PS2 heyday, they scratched several gamer itches for me, including slick cel-shaded visuals, clever storytelling, and a great grasp on what makes the best animated TV shows tick. Naturally, I'm looking forward to The Sly Collection, which revamps the three hit games with a coat of HD and a smattering of new features. Now, according to Official PlayStation Blog, it'll set you back roughly the same as the last HD "Collection" compilation.

With Move's release only a few months away, it's not a surprise more developers announce support for the company's motion device. Eurogamer reports Ubisoft's long-delayed strategy game R.U.S.E. is the latest to incorporate Move. It won't, however, be adding support for Microsoft's Kinect.

Michael Jackson

Ubisoft E3 2010 press conference featured an appearance by a bunch of Michael Jackson's dancers, and while the proteges of the King of Pop busted out some funky-fly-fresh-wicka-wicka moves, there wasn't really any information revealed about how Jackson's ouvre will be translated to the gaming space. Today, thanks to an interview with Video Games 247, we have those details for you... aren't you lucky?

New Sly Cooper Collection Comparison Screens

Sly Cooper lovers are well aware by now that Sony and Sanzaru Games are currently hard at work on the recently announced Sly Collection, which includes HD remastered versions of all three of Sucker Punch’s beloved platforming titles. Sadly, the collection won’t be out until November.

However, to help convince you that it will be well worth the wait, Sanzaru president Glen Egan has gone ahead and posted a few comparison screens over at the Official PlayStation Blog to demonstrate the effects remastering has had on the titles.

E3 2010: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Interview »

Right then, sorry about the delay. This week's episode of Feedback is, unsurprisingly, all about E3. Most of us are well-rested enough to get our butts into Radio B and dive deeper into the games, announcements, and events of last week. 3DS was tops for everyone, but there was much more to discuss, including the actual potential for the Kinect and the Move, as well as how the rest of 2010 is going to play out now that we have a better idea of the release schedule. Let Adam, Patrick, Abbie, Sterling, and Matt guide you out of the post-event haze...

Feedback: The Post-E3 Extravaganza Show »

Other dark secrets contained within:

  • What powers the top screen of the 3DS? According to Matt, it's "angels' souls trapped in the system." Scientific...I like it.
  • How early is that Kinect Star Wars game we describe as a "fever dream," and wouldn't we rather have that for the Move?
  • Patrick mentions something about Miyamoto and the Mario Galaxy team working on a 3D Mario platformer, and I get all excited in the background. This happens again when someone hypothesizes Kojima working on Zone of the Enders 3 for 3DS.
  • How much heat are we going to get for calling Kinect an expensive TV remote for lazy people?
  • For all the love we give 3DS, two of our show disappointments might not sit well with Nintendo fans...
  • Games we also discuss: Halo: Reach, Killzone 3, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Comic Jumper, Dance Central, and much more.
  • Just to clear up any confusion: Adam Sessler is not an archer.
