If anyone finds Second Life to be difficult, they should check themselves into the \"I'm a Giant Moron Hospital\". I think its in Utah.

Excuse me for a moment. I know you're busy getting dominated by foul-mouthed children in Modern Warfare 2 right now, but I thought you would like to know the new episode of The MMO Report is now available. In this week's show, Casey lets you know that Star Trek Online finally has a release date, that Aion has sold almost one million copies, and that Warhammer Online now has an unlimited free trial. Now that's a payment plan I like. So take a seat and enjoy the vast knowledge of Casey Schreiner by pressing play and watching this week's episode of The MMO Report.

Whoa. What happened to Casey? He looks so...pretty.

That's because this week Morgan Webb is guest hosting while Casey is enjoying real fall weather on the east coast. Bring us back some leaves and hot apple cider. In the mean time, Morgan will tell you all about Champions Online's free weekend, show off the newest screenshots of Bizarro in DC Universe Online, and lament about the lack of beta invitations surrounding the newest Star Wars: The Old Republic timeline trailer. But I have a feeling your attention will be directed elsewhere this week.

Stop staring. It's rude.

Botha-Whoie? It s Bothawui, get it right. You saying that TOR will be a crap game by calling it whoie? I can hear your eyes rolling when you said you were waiting for a Beta invite from Bioware. We all know you praise World of Crapcraft to no end and I hope you never get a Beta invite. Speaking of that, $50 for some crappy mug Blizzard is trying to pawn off on people? That s almost as stupid as that book they re selling. Lame.

This year a fantastic documentary about MMO gamers called Second Skin was released in theaters, on Hulu for a short period of time, and now on DVD. This beautifully crafted movie follows the lives of a few select MMOers to find out what is so compelling about living another life through a computer screen and what that means for their interaction with the rest of the world. I highly recomend picking it up.

A few weeks back, Casey got the oppertunity to sit down with Victor Piniero, writer and producer of Second Skin, to talk about his experience making the movie. Not only will this interview give you a new appreciation for the film, but it will also give you a small window into the world of documentary film making. So get in a comfy chair, settle in, and press play on a very special episode of The MMO Report.

I don't mind the occasional special show, but I agree this is too many recently.

Also about Second Skin, I wonder if it just focuses exclusively on WoW players? It implied that, as all the gamers we saw clips of were playing WoW. There are other MMO's out there and should of spoken to a wide range of players.

No matter what MMO you play, you have to give respect to Ultima Online. For a while now, Mythic Entertainment has been tasked with keeping the godfather of MMOs up and running, and next week they will release a new expansion, The Stygian Abyss. With a new zone, new boss mobs, and a new race, this might be the time to jump back into the game that started it all. But don't take my word for it, press play and let Josh and Cal from Mythic tell you themselves.

I just want to make a comment to people who have not played Ultima Online.

Like others have said, this game is the original MMO. You have to look at the perspective of content over graphics on this one. The game has been around for over 11 years now and the content in the game is extremely deep. There is an economy, just like WoW or EQ, but it is even deeper than you could imagine. I have played since 1998 and have items from back then. I have saved the items, which are still...

It's that time of year again. Yes, the late summer brings high temperatures, back-to-school sales, and the annual nerd pilgrimage to the Anaheim Convention Center for Blizzcon. This year the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Cataclysm, was revealed; which includes two new races, flying mounts, a world-wide event changing the landscapes for all of Azeroth, and a level-cap raise to 85. Yeah, it's that awesome. So let our guest correspondent Morgan Web get the answer you want direct from the source, and check out the spectacle that was Blizzcon 2009!

Interesting, hadn't ever really looked at Ultima Online. Kinda disappointed with the graphics. Looks like Diablo 2. Kinda sad for a late 2009 MMORPG. You'd think with Mythic putting out Warhammer online with it's high-end graphics that they could do better than a top down early 90's RPG graphics engine :(. But they did say it was "political" too, sadly, WoW is falling victim to these same people who won't be happy til we're grinding through AQ and MC again, in rehashed tier 1 and tier 2 gear,...

If you play an MMO, you're probably in a guild. And if you're in a guild, you've probably traveled somewhere to meet up with your fellow gamers in person.

Well last weekend The Syndicate, one of the world's largest and most successful guilds, had their annual conference in Austin, Texas, and Casey Schreiner was invited. He got the chance to spend some time with the guild members, talk about their passion for MMOs, and even had a couple sit down interviews with some very special guests; including Red Sox pitcher and founder of 38 Studios Curt Schilling, and Lord British himself, Richard Garriott.

So take a seat, press play, and see if you think you have what it takes to be a member of the most influential guild in the gaming industry. Long live The Syndicate!

What a week. Those rumors about the two new races in World of Warcraft have really lit a fire under the collective asses of the MMO community. Although I fear the Worgen will attract a whole new kind of furry-fetishist into WoW. We'll have to just wait and see.

Moving on, this week Casey will also tell you about the character details recently revealed about the Smuggler class in Star Wars: The Old Republic, City of Heroes upcoming powers customization, and the fact that Huxley has finally began their beta test. Oh, and we reveal the winners of our "Create your own Hero or Villain" contest. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week's installment of The MMO Report.
