, developed by Valve and published by Electronic Arts, had sold more than 3 million copies. Both games were published on Xbox 360 and the PC. Based on the sales data so far, it's looking like the sequel is actually on track to surpass the original.
According to Valve, more than a million players have logged into Xbox Live to play online and promised news on the first wave of downloadable content for Left 4 Dead 2 is "coming very soon."
I liked Left 4 Dead 2 quite a bit. With the game in the hands of everyone now, however, I really need to hop online and see what amazing strategies people have devised to make my life a living hell.

i think the game is amazing and is also a lot harder than the first. Melee weapons are in some ways to powerful but still awesome to use. There is nothing funnier then bopping the nose on a clown and hearing it squeak.
I thought the boycott was actually quite a dumb idea but made sense in a way. They could have held out on releasing it for at least another six months.

I live in Phoenix and there are billboards all over US 10 for this game. I've never seen such a thing before. Must be 3 on the way into work and another 3 on the way home. 2 of them are literally right next to each other.

I got the game at midnight on Nov. 17 and to be honest, I haven't logged that much time into it. The first L4D had me playing co-op for weeks with my buddies. Literally, we could not put the game down for several weeks. For some reason L4D2 fails to do that. Sure, the new guns and the addition of melee weapons are awesome and the new campaigns are mostly fun, it doesn't breath \"sequel\" to me. It's the same mechanics, the same gameplay, same graphics, same atmosphere, same same. I'm not too sure if I like the daytime environments that much and the characters aren't that likeable. Some levels have way too much potential, most notably the mall and carnival. There's so much fun you can have in there and cool gameplay that can be discovered if Valve had done it. By no means do I regret getting it, I just wish there was something new and fresh with this one.

I could give a crap about the game itself. It was just fun to boycott a game that I was never going to buy to begin with. Why? Because it made Adam get his panties in a bunch! I played the first game thought it was bad played the demo for part 2 and thought it was worse. Hey what do I know I am a fighting game fan at heart. Yes I am sure the people that started the boycott were the first in line to shell out another 65 dollars. No one in america can stick to there guns. We just give in and consume.

This game is really great man. I just hope the people who still think that this is just stuff that should have some out as DLC, can pull their heads out of the \"A\"s and realize that this is completely new and different!

It makes me sad that no one is doing a story on how Valve is leaving thousands of us PC gamers \"4 dead\" with the CTD bug.

It's a fun game, but nowhere near as addicting and fun as the first. Mainly because of the characters. They're just not likable, at all. I miss Francis man, he's a badass, lol. But I seriously hope they DLC all the new guns & melee weapons for the original. That would be AWESOME!!!! I'd love to see Francis with a tactical shotgun & axe. Or Bill with the combat rifle & Zoey with a ninja sword. Please Valve don't leave us original L4D players hanging!!!! If they have more DLC for the sequel before the first, I'm gonna be pissed!
That being said, I will be playing it when I get off work, but only after a few rounds of the original!

Let me get out of the way that I'm not a boycotter of the game - more like a doubter.
With that said, I've no intention of hiding that I still feel uneasy about the route Valve took with L4D2. I can understand the people who says this game is really fun but I, for one, haven't found myself entertained or the demo giving me something to look forward to...
Maybe someday I'll check the full game and see if it tickles my interests.

left 4 dead is my 3rd favorite game now behind #1 Bioshock and #2 Fallout 3 and ahead of #4 GTAIV and #5 Oblivion and #6 The Orange Box and #7 Left 4 Dead and #8 Call of Duty World at War and #9 Call of Duty 2 and #10 Brothers in Arms Hells Highway.

Jeez, the PC saved this game. It barely passed 500,000(Xbox 360) with all the 360 Fanboys out there, So either the PC version sold 2,000,000+ copies, or Valve is lying.
Lol the 360 Fanboys might just start buying second copies just so the 360 version will beat Uncharted 2.
