Capcom Reveals Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, Slate Of Downloadable Content

Remember the slate of downloadable content for Resident Evil 5 I wrote about yesterday? In the announcement, Capcom seemed to pretend there wasn't a PC version of Resident Evil 5. That's because the company hasn't scheduled the content to be released for the PC version.

"No plans for PC at this point," said a Capcom spokesperson to me this morning.

Capcom has been a surprisingly strong supporter of the PC platform and digital distribution in the past few years, traditionally releasing PC versions of its high-profile games a few months after the console versions. This year, it happened with both Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV.

If you want the extra content, such as two new single-player episodes, you'll need a console.

After the release of devil may cry 4 pc port done by valve, Along with the incressingly growing list of pc games they have been releasing, was a strong sign that they where finaly realizing they had a pc comunity backing them.
this, along with that trash of a port of RE4, im not so sure anymore. capcom need to look at what they have and not keep treating us like second hand fans

thats very unfortunate for my friend because he just recently bought the game for the PC. I havent picked the game up yet but I plan on getting it for the PS3 once I heard about Gold Edition last night.

I dont see why they cant release the content all equally. Sucks for PC owners :(

When a game is made for PC platform of course there is going to be a possibility of no downloadable content. They won't get money for it duh (I'm being honest). When it comes to consoles they know that Microsoft and Sony would pay them top dollar to get downloadables and the two companies sell it back to their customers for whatever price they want. Unless Steam or Microsoft (Games for Windows Live) were to purchase downloadable content then PC gamers could see downloadable content.
