Retro Studios is responsible for bringing Metroid into the third dimension with the Metroid Prime series, but it seemed Metroid Prime was done after after Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

...or not.
"We are always planning to make new games in the Metroid Prime series," said Metroid Prime producer Kensuke Tanabe to the Official Nintendo Magazine in the UK. "Depending on the timing and the situation, we cannot deny the possibility of realising it on DS or DSi."

Can we make a new rule? If you have a flasghip game an "epic or perennial contender" of a game...
Keep it on the signature console not a 3 inch screen.
Thanks..

I don't get it, I love prime hunters, I think it was ten times better then the Wii versions. The bosses got old, but I didn't really care. The only reason I really have the game is for the multiplayer with my friends. We wasted a lot of lunch times, and class times with that game.

Oh what a tangled web we weave. Can't Metroid just stay on the Wii? There's other franchises better suited for the DS Lite/DSi.

While I do not agree that Hunters was better than the console series, I do agree that it was a pretty great game. That game, however, was not great because of what it did that was similar to the Prime series, but what was different. The single player was a sad imitation of the fantastic Prime trilogy, but the multiplayer was fantastic for a DS game. I would love to see another DS Prime game, though I think the single player should be improved upon greatly.

I'm kind of sick hearing about Zelda, Mario, and Metroid. Listen, they are all great games and I am excited for new instalments in each franchise (Galaxy 2 can't come fast enough) but I feel like Nintendo has forgotten that they have a lot of other IP's they could be making games with. There hasn't been a good, main-console release of Donkey Kong, Kirby, or F-Zero in years. And don't tell me that when the Wii first came out, you didn't have dreams of motion-controlling Star Fox's Arwing.

Metroid is always a great game but they need to adjust some things. Keep the FPS style on Wii, that was actually a good game because I don't like FPS's with a controller and the Wiimote was a big plus. If they want to make portable versions, develop those in the 2D style like Fusion. The 3D Hunters wasn't so easy to use.

I want a new Legend of Zelda!
Lil_Melon
So long as they add challenge to the shooting aspect of the game, seeing as it's a major part of gameplay, I'm all for it.

With thw WII having so many crappy games coming out, you dont really think they will kill the best series on it do you. Kinda sounds like Halo on M$ huh?

metroid prime's multiplayer was awesome :D however the online became unstable with all the hacks after a while lul.
Punk09
As long as Retro Studios makes it, I'm happy. Nintendo, stick with the 2D.
poker909
call me lazy, but I HATED Metroid on Wii. Who wants to wave their arm for hours at a time, when earlier you could relax with a controller in your lap. Thats progress ?!?!?
Spybreak
I think Metroid has always been a better gaming experience in 2D and loved Metroid Zero Mission and Fusion, Hunters was ok but lets get retro nostalgic here! Or what about Metroid Pinball 2!?!
