SPOILER ALERT!!! Rockstar Games will soon start developing another Grand Theft Auto game! I know you were (not) worried about Rockstar abandoning its most cherished and profitable franchise, but worry no more.
During an interview with British publication the Times Online, Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser confirmed that his team of mad geniuses will soon start work proper on the next GTA, to absolutely no one’s surprise.
“We’ll think of a city first, then the characters,” Houser said, before explaining that the script for the game will come in at around 1,000 pages.
As for the game’s setting, that will continue to be teased and speculated about for many months to come. The front runner at this point is Vice City, thanks to an ad spotted in the manual for GTA: Episodes from Liberty City, but until we hear something official, refrain from placing any bets.

I would like to see them do Houston or Dallas or even San Antonio cause i live in Texas.....as long as its a new location thats all i care about cause im tired of seeing majority of games in California or New York.....there are plenty of other big cities in the world so pick a different city please.....

I would love it if they did Vice City again. The look and the vibe of Miami is something that is really cool and Vice City is a fairly good representation of that city. Now add to that the level of detail that was in GTA4 and you could have an even better location and feeling. Whatever Rockstar ends up doing will be good but my fingers are crossed for another Vice City.

i said it before how bout a great lakes city?... theyre on the decline and slowly crime is developing again (plus i live in buffalo (well a suburb) and i think it'd be really intresting).

i think they need to rethink the game a bit. While GTA4 was great story wise, i didn't have much fun playing it. I remember back when San Andreas and Vice City were out. They were a blast to play. GTA4 was, i believe a shell of itself. It wasn't nearly as exciting as, say, Saints Row 2. GTA4 had a great story, but I had way more fun playing Saints Row 2, just based on the ridiculousness of some of the mini games and missions. Make GTA5 more fun!

I'm a big GTA fan, so I am happy to hear another is on the way. Wherever they set the game, I hope they spend a lot of development time refining the controls. I've been playing Episodes from LC, and the control scheme (esp. the gunplay) has not aged well in light of recent 3rd person action titles. That said, I'm sure the good people at Rockstar will not disappoint.

As long as it's not "Grand Theft Auto: Tales from Group Therapy" again, I might give it a shot, especially if we return to Vice City.
In all seriousness, kill the damn mini-games already. Vice City was great because of the atmosphere that felt like an extended Miami Vice episode; great sound track, great locations, costumes, characters... and then San Andres comes along and we have to worry about eating to many burgers which leads to the gym mini-game which effects the girlfriend mini-game which leads... just forget it! Give us the role of a criminal, let us shoot up the place, and tell us a great story while we do it. THAT'S IT.

The more GTA games the better. On topic, another Vice City would rock but Rockstar has proven time and time again that they can take the GTA franchise anywhere and make a go of it. San Andreas was the first GTA game to be set in southern California and it was one of the best video games of all time. So let's see what Rockstar has in store for the next GTA, we know it'll be something of epic proportions.

I'm glad they finally confirmed it, and i agree with the people who say it should be back in San Andreas, that was my favorite GTA game. But i'm all for a GTA game out of the country that would be awesome. And they should put back some of the more fun things like the jetpack and the jets that made San Andreas so much fun. I mean seriously how fun would it be to have some Dogfights online with your friends online.

I talked to my cousin who lives in Mexico City and he said that it would be horrible for GTA. London would be fun but I was also thinking Tokyo.
