I am going to give you three guesses what the Feedback Game of the Week is. Go on. Guess. (No looking at the post title.)

...

...nope.

...

...Buzz Quiz World is neat, but no.

...

...Diablo 3's not out yet, buddy.

It's...ta-da, Modern Warfare 2. We've got five on it with Adam, Patrick, Abbie, Brian, and Matt to talk about the game from beginning to end...less multiplayer. If you love the Call of Duty, this is the show for you. (There are spoilers, but not of the end.) If you've got coverage fatigue, don't worry, the week is almost over!

Feedback -- Modern Warfare 2 Edition »

Hit Tab to See Secondary Show Objectives:

  • Massive layoffs happened this week at Electronic Arts. Our best to those affected.
  • Dead Space: Extraction was great, but did moving it to the Wii hurt the franchise?
  • EA franchises are going to get seriously looked at next year, like Medal of Honor and Need for Speed. Is that a wise strategy?
  • The rumor is that Project Natal will range between $50 and $80, with 13-15 games at launch. Does this make you swing your arms in approval? And isn't it a bit ridiculous that, if the rumor pans out, Natal will be cheaper than the wi-fi adapter?
  • Is it okay for a game to be short if there's no filler?
  • How did you approach "No Russian?" If you opened fire, why? And how do you define "enjoyment" when it comes to games?

You guys can break the 30 minute format. Last week when it was around 45ish was great, and I really would have loved to see the 5 of you discuss the question of the week. But I digress

Combining the topics of EA returning to squeals because they sale, and Brutal Legend not doing as well because of a game play bait and switch (Thinking it was Hack and Slash, but really an RTS) as well as being a new IP. As a PC gamer I feel that both points were somewhat vindicated this week with Modern Warfare 2.

Since the days of Quake we have played Onine FPS via dedicated servers, and we assumed that Modern Warfare 2 would be the same, and now many CoD4 fans who don't follow Gaming news have been 'tricked' into getting MW2 expecting more of the same, but instead get a very Xbox like Matchmaking system.

Farther more we only found out about this ahead of time because of Robert Bowling's appearance on a podcast, had not happened it is possible we could have bought the game with out any idea of how they changed the online experience.

Do you believe that when Game Developers are breaking from the established norm of a genre that they should be as upfront and public about the change as possible or should experience altering changes be kept in the dark for the 1st wave of players to either excitedly or disappointingly discover?

Thanks as always guys, look forward to next week's Feedback.

Yea, I killed people in "No Russian", but it's a video game. I bought it for my enjoyment, and I intend to get the full experience out of the story. You don't get affected as much if you just walk through it, but when you kill people then think about it, not only do you get enthralled in the story and message, but you start to think about the type of world we live in. I have no regrets about playing it, or the "Just Like Old Times" mission where Marines are your enemy.

so it is a mode/stage, first video made it sound like a scene but that still doesn't change facts. The game is rated M and when you look at games like god of war and GTA the rating fits and shouldn't of been foreseen but because realization it is seen as a big deal. i have seen wost in movies. The last Renment was a original game. It had a strong story and the battle system complicated at first ( yes i have seen the Game over scene a lot) and it is sad that the only reason i got the game was because it was made by Square Enix. one more thing War game don't need a long story and I plan that the single player would only take 6-7 hrs but i buy the game for the multiplayer. It is very unwise to buy a war for the story because it will end up being disappointment

I kinda want Pissy Adam on Fox. Even if it may not do much for the perception of Gamers by the "mainstream", if one of the hosts said something skull fornicated retarded and Pissy Adam bludgeoned him with his chair. That would probably be the greatest interview on Fox ever. If Pissy Adam could make them question their professional integrity, all while being articulate and only occasionally spewing obscenities at them, that would also be great television right there.

Both Dead Space and Mirror's Edge sold an excess of 1,000,000 copies (more than 500,000 each on 360 and PS3). Isn't 1,000,000 the magic number for success?

A part of me likes the direction they took with the airport scene, a part of me doesn't. I like that video games are maturing and progressing as an art form, but I also that maybe this will also lead to video games with big political messages that I don't care about like the movies.

When i was playing the airport scene and you where standing in front of the crowd of people i hesitated but i was so in the experience that i thought of it just like abby and matt. I think that was what infinity ward was going for, they wanted to take you out of your comfort zone and wanted to show you that no one is spared in war. Modern Warfare 2 is truly a great game.

MW2 is an all around package. MP is a blast. Co Op Mode has a lot more then I thought it would. Single player was short but i don't care it was fun and I will have tons more fun with single player for a long time now.

I think the airport scene is too clean, for lack of a better word, reason being I've played GTA , gone into an airport with a flame thrower and a machine gun and gunned people down while the were running around on fire, and then blew them up. It's part of the fun of doing things in a game that you'd never do in real life.
