Dragon Age: Origins' PC Difficulty Patch Already Built Into Console Versions

BioWare issued a quick patch to the PC version of Dragon Age: Origins late last week, which addressed a handful of bugs that snuck into the final game and, more significantly, addressed complaints from users about imbalances present in the easy and normal difficulty settings. According to users, the easy mode wasn't so easy sometimes and the normal mode experienced unexpected difficulty strikes every so often. The patch was supposed to help balance the different difficulties.

That got me thinking. Does that mean the console versions are in for a patch, too? Should console players of Dragon Age: Origins be aware of the difficulty quirks while the patch goes through the certification process at Microsoft and Sony? Fortunately, that's not necessary.

"Those fixes are actually already in the 360 and PS3 out of the box," a BioWare spokesperson told me.

Hurrah! Patch avoided.

so do the monsters and bosses lvl up as you do cause the broodmother (hope i spelt that right) shouldnt have caused me as much trouble as she did when im lvl 25 on normal

patch? or clever piracy countermeasure? i'm just sayin, strange how the console versions don't need an update. then again, maybe it isn't strange.

I've been wondering about that, actually. I'll be cruising along without problem and then WHAM! Suddenly I spend fifteen minutes on a single encounter dying over and over and over again.

i think the bosses level up along with you. I took on the brood mother at mearly L 12 at normal and it was a hard nut to crack. Think i ran around in that room for about 2 houers.

This game should be banned. I know this is off topic a bit but I want my life back now (more my wife and kids want me back)! This game is a total life suck.

Now back to the patch. Most likely a patch/counter countermeasure.

Damn you bioware.

Funny bolo73, my wife and I have already had our first Bioware-to-blame argument. Enough games don't come out that I play often, so I go through these long periods of lull wherein I don't have any desire to play a game because nothing is out I'm interested in and it's been long enough I've beaten whatever I was working on. So last week I took a half day from work, and off goes the 'irresponsible' lecture, mainly because it's been a while since we went through this territory. We forgot our treaties. Lol. I should have sealed them magically in old ruins for proof. Anyhow. Sharin.

Bioware does to me every time.
First it was the Baldur's Gate games. Then Neverwinter night games, followed by KOTOR, then Jaded Empire and lastly Mass Effect. I think I lost about a year of my life to Bioware games. Not counting when Mass Effect 2 hits.

I am like the dog in Pavlov's experiment as in I must play there games to the finish and the drooling part as well.

Yeah, this game is uber-fun (just like all of the Bioware games). The difficulty think hasn't been too big of a problem yet (on the ps3); I think the real difficulty comes from worrying about my decisions for too long. I've already put the controller down on the coffee table while I've thought about my decisions several times... Bravo, Bioware.

this is one amazing game i even got one of my girl friends (grace) to play this game and the only game shes said to ever like was the sims she saw me playin it one day when we were chilling and she wanted to make a character and in short after i gave her a copy of the game she texts me this morning going omg zach i love this game so iv got a new slogan for bioware

bioware- so good we attract the womans

ps. no offense to any girl gamers out there just a joke after all

What about a patch for the leveling glitch that allows a character to be leveled up to 25 in about a half hour? I somehow doubt that's supposed to be "built into" the game.
