A new Open Source post from G4 President Neal Tiles is live... check it out here.
This month, Neal talks about the G4's awesome October, how to request G4 in HD, and promises a shout-out to your college if you manage to get them to add G4 to your programming package.
Remember to submit your questions to Neal because he'll be back for another round of Open Source in December.

the only question I have is what happened to Code Monkeys?
My wife and myself made a point to never miss an episode and we were both sad to see it dissapear... less COPS more Code Monkeys please :) ((Or at least add them to your Ondemand Offerings))

Honestly I used to watch G4 all day long, had it on in the office and at home, but for the past few years it seems like its all cops cheaters and other lame ass reality shows no one else wants. Bring back Code monkeys, bring back cinematech, bring back your old original content. as it is Im trying to decide if its worth it to pay for G4 when all i watch now is attack of the show and some of your movies that don't suck, because they don't suck (unlike 12ish hours a day of your programming)

Yeah, I think what's happened is G4 had to make a "deal with the devil" per se....Ninja Warrior, Cops, Cheaters; "popular" culture stuff had to be brought to the channel for some reason. Now I think I'll always love G4 even though I mainly just watch X-Play, but it shows:
-They've taken alot of previous shows and sandwiched them into AOTS/X-Play. I guess this means they weren't popular enough as a standalone show. Makes me kinda sad, but I always say to myself: "We still got X-play!"
-X-play had a VERY short season before the move(I forget from where, to where) and had an awesome studio. It seems part of this "deal with the devil" was to cut down on X-play production values, and crunch other shows into X-play/AOTS.
Not really trying to diss anyone, just my view of what's happened. As long as there's X-play(and sometimes AOTS), I'll be watching G4.

I agree with a lot of the comments already. I love AoTS and X-Play, but the constant reruns, the cheap syndication shows that , to me, appear to be atypical G4 programming like Cops and Cheaters are running me off. It is especially disheatrening to hear that G4 Canada seems to be so much closer to the vein of what I think of as the G4 type of audience.
I used to leave the channel on while I was on the PC or doing things around the house. The constant 4 packs of COPs and Cheaters has sent me running away. Now I no longer watch the G4 channel, I just DVR the new AoTS and X-Plays. If this is the type of audience that you want then keep it up.
