The game's pre-order numbers are setting up for a massive launch for the latest Call of Duty. During an investor call discussing Activision's quarterly financial results, however, CEO Bobby Kotick set expectations even higher.
Kotick expects Modern Warfare 2 to produce the "largest video game launch of all time" and just moments later, Kotick even went one step further, predicting Infinity Ward's latest could be "one of the largest entertainment launches of any media of all time."

I think MW2 could definitely be the biggest launch, definitely bigger then Halo 3 or GTA IV's launch. This game has supermassive hype on 360, PS3 and PC, which is more then the other 2 had. next week is definitely gonna be pretty crazy :P

I hope so, IW deserves it. I will always love Halo CE, but I've moved on, this is the future, and MW2 is the ish. To avoid the midnight madness that is sure to ensue I've arranged for street date delivery to my doorstep.

MW2 For the WiN!!! Heck ya... ill be up there early on the 9th. IDK why but alot of my friend do the whole campen out for concerts and stuff but i do it for games. Its so funny listning to peeps talk about how bad ass they are. ALot of midnight release's that i have been to iam glade i was in the top 3 spots because you get some cool extra stuff. Posters, cut outs and codes. That and the local GAMESTOP employees ar fun to chat with. For GoW2 i looked like a hobo. I was on the bench next to the GAMESTOP door. It was just below freezing out side and i hade a blanket and i was eating a bowl of soup my wife brought me. Say what you want to but i had fun. Gona be first for MW2...Gona get my NVGs!!

i was a halo series and gears of war player but those have since gone to the wayside and i just started getting into cod 4 in the past few weeks and i'm pumped for it too, i will probably go the online delivery route too even though it would be a sceene at any gamestop or bestbuy i'm sure

Yeah, this game is going to crush Halo 3 and GTA IV in sales. Halo 3 because it's cross platform, GTA IV because this appeals to a larger cross-section of gamers. It's going to be insane. I'm staying the hell away from Gamestop until the weekend after this game comes out.

Im preety sure it will COD mw was a okay for me but i dont see all the hype behind it just seemed like any other cod or war 1st person shooter just really updated in time and on a next gen console i 1st saw the the trailer last night right before the new southpark come on and it looked preety good so i might check this game out ill just rent it. ha but i know for sure i am buying badcompany 2 in march 2010 i loved the 1st one.
