Chris Hardwick and Olivia Munn ponder the return of Motorola with the new Android-powered CLIQ with its touch screen, sliding keyboard and new MOTOBLUR interface for $200.
Check out the full Attack of the Show review after the cut.
What You Need to Know
- The phone is about 0.6” thick, which is actually thicker than the Droid.
- It weighs almost as much, too.
- This is the first phone with Motoblur, which consolidates all of your social networking profiles onto one screen, so you don't have to worry about loading up each app.
- Each app auto-updates so you can see everything at a glance.
- There's only room for one update per widget (like a new tweet or Facebook status), but it's still cool to have them all in one place.
- As for the touch screen, it works just like we'd expect from an Android phone, though the constant updating may make it lag a little.
- The keyboard is great; big, raised keys make it easy to type with, easier than the Droid for sure.
- Overall, it's a great Android experience with the added bonus of Motoblur.
- The web browser is pretty good, though it doesn't have the double tap to zoom like Droid, because it's not Android 2.0, but other than that, it's solid.
- The 5 megapixel camera is good too, though it doesn't have a flash; it doesn't blur easily which is a nice change from most phone cameras.
- E-mail integration is a part of Motoblur as well, and this makes it easy to see all of your inboxes at a glance.
- There are more than 10,000 Android apps (second only to the iPhone).
- It accepts Micro SD up to 32 GB.
Price
- $200 with a contract on T-Mobile.
- We feel this is more of a $100 phone, since it feels like it's designed for teens, and the iPhone 3G is $100 with a contract.
Overall Rating
- 4 Seals of Approval out of 5 (How do we rate gadgets?)
