As you’ve probably heard, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony and GTA: Episodes From Liberty City were released today, and as anyone who picked up a copy of latter will tell you, it doesn’t just include bonus radio content. It also includes a terribly cryptic hint at the location of the next Grand Theft Auto (Sadly, the hint doesn’t include anything about it being released episodically).
It’s not much, but located on the bottom right-hand corner of a page in the manual for the game is a small advertisement for a movie called Liberty City, It’s Over! On the lower corner of the ad is a torn away section that shows some mountains bordering a beach that is sprinkled with what appear to be pine trees (but I guess they could just be stand-ins for any old type of tree). And just beneath the graphic is either the word “Theater Seagull” (or “Seagulf” since the last letter is covered up) and a box that says, “Opens March Everywhere.”
What does it all mean? How the hell should I know? Of course, the return of Vice City FM in Episodes From Liberty City seems like a good indication that the next installment will see the series return to sunny South Florida. However, I grew up in South Florida, and mountains are pretty hard to come by, even in the hillier parts of the northern portion of the state. My first reaction when I saw the picture was the pacific northwest, which would definitely put it in the range of San Andreas territory, but there are plenty of places that share the characteristics found in the photo, so I guess we’ll have to wait until March to see what comes of this.
Anyone played Ballad of Gay Tony or Episodes From Liberty City yet? What do you think so far?

I've been playing all morning. I've barely tapped into the new content. Pretty impressive for 20 bucks.

I live in Florida. The only mountains here are found on topographical maps. Would love to go back to vice city though. Here's hoping for a return to the Vice City/San Andreas driving.

Theater Seagull is located in GTA4...
its on Lormar St. in Star Junction.

That isn't much to make any sort of a guess. I'd say San Andreas if I had to pick an already used location. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it was some place entirely new. Returning to LC was a cool way of showing the impressive jump that the series made, but they might get knocked for a lack of creativity if they get into the habit of just revamping old locales.

Pine trees, huh?
It better not take place in a rural forest - it will be strange having to hijack a deer.

I wouldn't put it past Rockstar in the slightest to change up the development cycle by going to San Andreas instead of Vice City just to keep us on our toes. Even to the point of including the Vice City station just to throw us off, I really wouldn't mind going to either though. I just hope Microsoft doesn't go and try to buy some exclusive episodes and mess with the features in whichever they go with. I enjoy TLAD very much and I can see why Rockstar withheld certain vehicles and weapons for the sake of the Episodes, but I would much rather get my hands on the full package from the get go.

Since I live in Vice City, I'll be hoping for a re-creation of it in the next GTA installment.

I want them to do the next GTA somewhere in Europe. While playing GTA IV, I also thought (out of the blue) that incorporating Germany's Auto Bahn would be pretty sweet. in a GTA game.

SAN ANDREAS SAN ANDREAS SAN ANDREAS!!!
Zmeeds
they already did gta in europe. it was called the getaway

Either Vice City or San Andreas would be awesome but so would anywhere else. I have faith that Rockstar will do us right and I would bet they have taken the criticism to heart and will make GTA5 better than 4.

I would'nt mind a london based gta again never played gta 2 but morn than likely it may be san andreas.

its obvious that its going to take place in Kingdom hearts, didn't you pay attention to the giant heart on the poster?
scottyrob82
I was hoping for a location like New Orleans, Detroit, Chicago, or the "gritty" Miami. I want the game to take place in the most abandoned of our nations cities and show the dark sides of our country and always have crimes going on in the background.
rkontna
Seattle maybe? herion addicted? idk
BertSaxby
Hey maybe it's Brazil?
Plenty going on down there.
