I never played Electronic Arts' GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, but I am fully aware of what a disappointment the game was, especially to every gamer who ranks GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64 among their favorite games of all time. Well, Activision is apparently looking to take another stab at capturing the magic of the N64 classic by way of an update/remake/sequel.
As VG247 reports, a Eurocom staffer named Craig Peck recently saw his CV pop up online (it’s since been pulled), and apparently the following bit of experience was listed therein:

Animator on Activision’s James Bond series for the Nintendo Wii assisting in: Key frame animation, the preparation and clean-up of motion capture data, prop animation, in-game cut-scene animation, scene layout, and camera animation.
Oh come on! This will be the third GoldenEye game released before we see a single next-gen remake of James Bond Jr.? Unbelievable. Project Gotham Racing

), so Eurocom would most likely be working on porting the game to the Wii, similar to its porting work it did on last year’s Quantum of Solace.

Just give us a version of the original with Wi-Fi multiplayer. They wouldn't even have to have updated teh graphics any, it's solid as is. DK mode wouldn't look good realistically.

I just want the original with online multiplayer. Why can't MS and Nintendo just agree to put it up for download and call it good. I know a lot of people would buy it so who cares who makes more money because of it in the end. There not making anything from it by not having it on there. Also Id like to see the original perfect dark.

Get Crytek UK to make it (aka the late 'Free Radical' , aka the late 'Rare') and it'll be fine.

Id like to see a Remake not a rehash,i rememeber the terrible graphics,im looking at my copy right now and thinking of playing it cause i still have even a working NES,therefore i still have my N64,and yeah im too used to todays graphics

i actually liked the original perfect dark better then golden eye. but it'd be cool to see a remake/ port.

there is only TWO THINGS Activision needs to do....TWO THINGS!!!!
1) update graphics (HD quality?) and any other key gameplay mechanics (physics, environment, controls, etc)
2) online multiplayer
THATS ALL YOU NEED TO DO, any major changes to the story, maps, weapons/characters, etc will earn you the wrath of all GoldenEye 007 fans

I'd love to see a remake of Goldeneye, with updated graphics, controls, options (online MP) and new objectives and missions. Maybe even full voice acting from the original cast.
Don't get me wrong, though, the classic was and always will be awesome.

Why are people still convinced that this game is still relevant? It's been far surpassed by even the most mundane of shooters by today's standards. If you want nostalgia, ebay an N64 and the game.

Hear hear! The problem with Goldeneye was that it came into existence around a time where shooters really hadn't ported over fully to console games. At this time you were either a pc gamer that was too busy loving quake or unreal 2k, or you had an n64 and worshiped this game. For that time it had a good shooter feel that was unmatched on the console experience. But we're in a whole new console generation where if you can't compete with halo2/3 or call of duty:mw, you're better off delaying a project than putting one out only to be shot down by the popular favorites.
New ideas is why Uncharted 2 is popular, and Tomb Raider 5 is not... instead of drawing out franchises, you make an existing one renewed!

I played goldeneye 8 months ago on the 64, and ill just say it was WAY better then than it is now. I couldnt even play it, now that im use to 2 joysticks on a controller. Should just leave this one alone. I think it will be a mess with the Wii controller!!
