Bargain Time: Rock Band 2 Bundle For $79

Video game bargain of the week: For only $79, you can purchase Rock Band, Rock Band 2 and all the plastic instruments you'll need to play them-- drums, guitar and microphone. This is for the PS3 and 360 versions of the game; sorry, Wii and PS2 owners. The instruments, BTW, are from Rock Band.

Rather than speculate on whether this bargain price springs from lower-than-expected sales of all music games, I'm going to give you a strategy that will save you millions (okay maybe hundreds) of dollars over time. It's called "patience." Here's how it works. You wait. You never buy a video game until at least six months after it launches.

Sure, you miss all the exciting new releases, but, as long as you are diligent, you'll still get the same games, accessories or systems as everyone else, but just later, and for much, much less money. If it wasn't for the people around you talking about the newest games, it would work flawlessly. So, yeah, go buy Gears of War 2 and Dead Space this Christmas... and pick up Rock Band 2 -- it's only 80 bucks!

Be careful, this is a bundle that includes the crummier rock band 1 version of the instruments, including the quite loud drums and pedal that tends to break. If you intend to play the game for very long, you're probably better off investing in the Rock Band 2 instruments (which can also be found in clearance/bargain prices).

exept for some games I need NOW I usually wait for price drops..... unfortunetly games like God of War has a tendancy to take over 2 years to drop :(

I wonder if this deal has been around for at least a year yet. The website has certainly been around for months and months. I think it's not getting publicity for a reason. Only $79. It's not even eighty. Exactly $79.

well if it's got the RB1 instruments then it makes sense as to why it's so cheap...and in that case i'm not vexed. I got the RB1 bundle for 99.99 which was a good deal.

Is this for Rock Band (1) and Rock Band 2, along with all of the instruments? That seems pretty hard to believe, but that is how I took it. How legit does this seem?

Doesn't seem so, but it is. The bundle contains Rock Band 1 peripherals. One guitar, drum setup, and microphone. Rock Band 2 is also inside the box.

HEY PEOPLE! This is the real deal. I got this kit a few months ago. Its NOT A SCAM. Unless you don't like the version 1 instruments, of course then its a minor inconvenience. Its a great deal. I've since converted from GH to RB. Love it!
