Somebody let Blair Herter into the studio this week, and what resulted was the newest episode of Feedback. Adam, Patrick and I tried to make the best of it, choosing to focus instead on the week's most notable news, and our Game of the Week: Double Fine's Brutal Legend. (Just kidding, Blair was highly tolerable!)

G4tv.com's Feedback -- Brutal Legend Edition »

We also headbang to the following...

  • The September NPDs are here, which means its time to see if the PS3's price drop had any significant effect. (Spoiler: It did.)
  • America has spoken: The Beatles are still pretty awesome. Or at least still awesome enough to edge out Guitar Hero 5.
  • People bought Halo 3: ODST. No way! I know, right!?
  • EA's Peter Moore believes that the industry will soon be entirely digital, with Microsoft leading the way. He also thinks that some of us will be having grandchildren in 10 years, which is a far more dubious claim.
  • There are rumors that A Crack in Time might be the last Ratchet & Clank game. If you watch carefully, you can see the exact moment Adam's heart breaks. But is it really possible?
  • Is Brutal Legend better or worse off for having elements of real-time strategy? And is the game's charm and humor enough to keep us going?
  • At one point, we may have asked the question "How does Tim Schafer feel about Tim Schafer?" If we didn't, we got pretty close.
  • Reader duberi wonders why we review games the way we do, and we get a little defensive. Sorry about that.
  • Plus Patrick's 10-day forecast for the greater Los Angeles area (95% chance of being better than where you are).

I watched today's Feedback and Sessler's Soapbox and was dissappointed to see no mention of the news Modern Warfare 2 for PC will not use dedicated servers, and the huge response made by PC gamers. Curious to know what the G4 staff thinks of IW's attack on dedicated servers and modders.

Wont miss R&C even for a second. Good riddance finally. Am I the only one who could care less about Brutal Legend? I'm tired of hearing about it already.

Same here, Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls are FAR superior.

R&C beats any of the weak crap that shows up on 360, that's for sure. Good story, good gameplay, a great series. There isn't a single thing like that on XB.

Entirely digital? Not even close. Gamers won't allow it or we'll all quit. I've got more than enough games to give up the next gen. M$ couldn't lead the way out of a paper bag.

There's nothing wrong with Brutal as long as you're intelligent enough to enjoy it. Some people play the game noob FPS's over and over, no skill in that, no brains required.

Try Demon's Souls and tell me Brutal Legen is anything but repetitive and stale after about an hour.

Like that Adam hosts now, much better. Although Blair is right, I cant possibly dislike him more than I already do. Blair Herter gets a 1 OUT OF 5.

People need to learn that reviews are nothing more than opinion.

Ratchet & Clank is better than Brutal Legend any day. If these guys didn't have such a man crush on Tim Shafer(probably spelled wrong), no one would even mention Brutal Legend.

Wow. Sony fanboys go from putting down Xbox exclusives to putting down any game that's not PS3 exclusive? That's just sad.

Brutal Legend is awesome, by the way. Great Feedback, guys. Keep up the good work.

I think an exceedingly large amount of the complainers, on this site especially, that get all upset about your scoring system tend to be fanboys that are looking for some mini-victory for their camp. One of the more ridiculous things I see are scores for games thrown at people as evidence of their awesomeness, and clearly superior system/franchise/genre/etc.

    I give fanboys a 1 out of 5

Everything was going well, until you guys where making fun of a viewer....

I wonder what would happen to Adam, Blair, Patrick and Andrew if no one in this world would watch there show....I lost a lot of respect towards G4 for hiring individuals who think its funny to make fun of the same people who actually make their jobs possible.

I would like to finish with FEEDBACKS performance 0/5!!!!

    Just pure disappointment!!!!!

Yet another great Feedback! G4tv.com has some great employees. Oh, and thank you Adam for all of your obscurity! Personally, it keeps me coming back for another one:).

Very good show. I really enjoyed the review process discussion. I don't know about other people but I do read the reviews to get a clear idea what a game is like and if I might like regardless of the score. Keep up the good work guys.

I got all of Adam's references. I don't konw if that is good or not. I know the show, at least the first few, would meander but it seems that now you are rushing from subject to subject just so you can come in at 30 min.

Always remember, for every rambling idiot that complains about reviews there are hundreds of viewers that are quietly thankful. Some of us remember the dark days of older systems... times without informative reviews of games on systems like Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, heck even old DOS PC games.

I look forward to digital progression in gaming. My experiences with downloaded games on Xbox Live, the new PSP, and even PS3 (nice to relive the old days of FF7) have been overall positive. I agree its a big hill to climb to get consumers, not to mention stores like Wal-mart, to go with the flow but it will be well worth it in the end. Reminds me of the VHS-DvD transition, took forever but was for the better of the market and consumers alike.
