Welcome to Morning Hangover -- an excellent way to start your day with the crew at TheFeed...no matter what you're recovering from. Every morning you'll hear musings from our editors and have the chance to share your thoughts on what's going on in the gaming world.

Patrick Klepek: Later today, you'll learn more about my experiences playing with Twitter and Facebook on my Xbox 360. When Microsoft announced the social networks were coming to Xbox 360 at E3 this year, I was quickly impressed. As someone who uses both on a daily basis, however, I question their use on my Xbox. There don't seem to be many times where it makes sense to drop into the Xbox 360 version of Facebook or Twitter when I can pull up the faster versions on my iPhone. But this is only after a night of use, long before most of my friends have signed on. Do you think you'll use it?

Considering I've only bothered to use them on ps3 about 5 or 6 times in the past 2 years, I doubt I will have much use for it on my 360. The only thing about this update that really interests me is the syncing of facebook and Xbox Live friends. If I am rembering correctly I believe that was supposed to be one of the features.

I don't really think I'll use it that much, I don't even have a twitter (no one cares what I'm doing). But I think it's a cool(ish) idea. Xbox Live is a social networking tool on it's own--I think the average user will have several updates pop up stating that ____ is now using Facebook for Xbox 360, and it may be a person you had no idea even owned an Xbox. As a tool to expand your network of (actual) friends to play co-op and competitive games with, I think it's great. The more people that you see have downloaded the app, the more people will sign up for gold.

It all depends on how its used.
If developers can use the interface then it might be cool. If all my Facebook friends sign up it might mean I have more Live friends to play with, also cool. It certainly isn't BAD in any way, it just may not get used.

I really don't care one way or the other. I am off the grid as far as facebook is concerned (honestly I really don't want to be that connected, and there are some things I would choose to not know about you!)and with twwitter, I only follow a few folks, and none of them would be using any of the really annoying updates (like trophy/achievement spam) that would really bother me.

By adding them they are just trying to expand what their service is capable of. If you can do everything you care about by using only their machine, they come out the better even if you don't spend the rest of your time purchasing MSpoints or surfing the store. With this console generation, it has really become a battle of who can use their machine for more. If they can succeed at making sure your XBOX/PS3 never turns off, it's a win. This is just one more step to that.

I also hope they learned from the Uncharted Twitter disaster, and they don't auto update status' to "thesiwentkiwwah is playing Fallout3" etc.

Side question - Has anyone else had problems with Guitar Hero 5 messing up on their 360 or is my system just at the end of its rope? I don't want to keep buying games and have them destroyed if it is because my 360 is dying. Thanks

If you can't find a reason for Facebook and Twitter on 360, you would have to admit that a browser on Wii and Ps3 is relatively useless for the same reason: You can use a faster version on your PC, netbook, iPhone, etc.

Apple and Google will combine to form SKYnet on December 21, 2012. They will tell us that they're emphasizing on improvements in the field of CLOUD-computing, but do not be fooled! Plans to rule the world are already under way and they suffer no opposition while you wander through life, complacent and naive. They do not fear us, flaunting their plans right in front of our eyes! Google's ANDRIOD OS? The foundation for the operating system that will run their mechanized army. Apple's Steve Jobs? A PROTOTYPE they sent forth to manipulate the masses. Steve Jobs was never ill, it was all a HOAX so they could do maintenance, extensive diagnostic testing, and upgrades.

DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT!

I don't even use the browser on PS3, I probably won't use this. I use my phone more than anything for FB anyway.

Here's a good piece of news for this morning.

Sam Rami confirmed that Bruce Campbell will get a pretty big role in Spidey 4. I could care less about the movie after the 3rd but Bruce is always fun to watch.

The only thing I'd like it for is the FB friend sync and if it would update Twitter to say what game I'm playing. Other than that, it really doesn't matter. In fact, people probably don't care what you're playing since they can just open the dash.

As someone who hates both Twitter and Facebook I don't know. I know my girlfriend used it a couple of times on my PS3 but it she was more excited she could instead of being generally excited it was there. Maybe since it's on the Dash Board you 360 owners guys might use it a lot more.

I don't even use Facebook on my computer, and I don't have a Twitter account. I'll see what last.fm has to offer but I've always preferred my own song library to that of any radio station (Internet or otherwise).

No, what excites me about this update is the Zune Marketplace in all it's HD streaming glory.

(not that I think that the other features are anything but good, someone will like them and that's good for that person)

Nope! I play video games, online with friends. I don't want anyone to know what the hell I am doing. Hey look at me I am pooping. Hey I am eating my lunch with Seth Killan from Capcom. Hey my wife just slapped me. This is just more ways Microsoft is trying to get girls onto the xbox360. I have 3 computers already. My wife is on face book and twitter 24/7. No thanks......I would rather hadoken a face or two.

I'll use it. At least once... I find twitter to be usable only because I have TweetDeck. If the XBox one can't sort people out in Twitter so I can have different lists/groups/whatever, then I'll stick with the PC.
