Take a seat! The latest edition of Feedback is here to soothe your gaming soul. Host and editor-in-chief Adam Sessler once again takes the reigns on Feedback this week and he's joined by yours truly, Sterling McGarvey and Andrew Pfpfpfpfpfister to discuss what's nothing less than the greatest game of all time and that will ever be made, so it has been decreed -- you know, Uncharted 2.

Elsewhere in this week's Feedback:

  • Your weekly weather discussion for the greater Los Angeles area!
  • Sony's penchant for leaking its own news by accident continues, with both inFamous 2 and Resistance 3 seemingly being confirmed months before there's anything official. Of course, the real question on everyone's mind is: why exactly is Battle: Los Angeles shooting in Louisiana? Clearly, we're doing our best to stay on track this week.
  • BioWare's revealed Dragon Age: Origins will have downloadable content for a solid two years, making it more like the expansion content for an MMO than what we come to expect from traditional RPG. I'm not so sure the game can hold people's attention that long, but Andrew thinks there's a good chance it could work.
  • Prepare TheFeed comment battle stations for war: Wii Play is the best selling game of the past decade. You may begin your screams of horror…now.
  • A reader wonders if publishers might see better sales if they start selling games at prices other than $60. The crew was split on whether it's a good approach. Also, apparently I'm the only person who actually liked Wet (at least a little).
  • Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2.

Good episode of Feedback. As if I wasn't sold on Uncharted 2 already, that game alone is going to make me go out and get a PS3.

I only rented WET, but I wasn't as hateful on it as you guys were. I won't argue that it really isn't worth buying though. But when the market was slow, after I had beaten Batman AA/Halo 3 and was waiting for the next big game release....8 dollars to beat a mindless all style action game isn't too bad.

Wii Play as the highest selling game of all time? Ugh! Speaking on digital distribution....anyone curious when people are going to switch away from things like discs and move to possibly something similar in context a flash drive for game releases? As the technology keeps increasing, the amount of room and price for something like that could easily be cheaper and more effective than producing discs. Considering every console other than the Wii (PC, 360, PS3) all come with USB ports anyways...seems like a smart idea. Also could save people from taking up large amounts of space on there hard drives as well. I just picture a large game like a Fallout, with like a 30 gig flash drive as the game....with room for game saves, DLC...and everything directed for that game. All while not having to run off a disc.

I wish you guys would cover the firmware issues w/ PS3s, but I digress.

(BTW they recalled PS3s in Australia, a Florida man is suing Sony over this, and a Chicago Law Firm is taking "broken blu ray" cases)

I wouldn't be surprised if Uncharted 2 moves a lot of PS3s. I know did for my brother. He was planning to buy a PS3 but the the timing and the first game he bought for it was Uncharted 2.

Great discussions as always. Has WweZain said, I too never missed a single episode.

Very good discussion fellows. Agreed to every point you guys were making about the game. I was still at awe on how the cut scenes flow into the game. And the funny thing is, i didn't realize about the hidden treasure until I was in 4 chapter. That's how much the game sucked me in. It just feels like I'm cheating myself out of the game by looking around for the hidden treasure. Still, the game is really good.

I just ended Uncharted 2 and I have to say that Uncharted 2 is easily the best game that I've ever played. The attention to detail is hypnotizing. The graphics are even better than Killzone 2's graphics. The story and action is better than most movies. The flow of the game is perfect. No other game this gen is even on the same level as Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2 is now the measuring stick for all games.

Another great feedback! I liked when Billy hosted it but Adam is doing a fine job too. He's much more active in the conversations than Billy was. They didnt have time to mention how great the platforming element in Uncharted 2 is implemented in the competitive multiplayer. Does anyone know if G4 hosts any game nights for popular multiplayer games? If so I nominate Uncharted 2 to be the game sometime in the near future.

Fasinating discussion gentlement. Got uncharted 2 yesterday, and ended up playing to 4am when I had to force myself to go to bed. It was simply breathtaking. Sence of drama, intrigue and suspence that you experience, along with the joy of the action sequences just drive it home. I think you all hit the nail on the head stating that this game has raised the bar considerably for this genre and I actaully think for games in general.

It's not just the graphics, or the gameplay or the story or level design, it's the emalgamation of everything that just brings the whole thing together to make it simply a phenominal experience.

Enough drooling (can't wait to go home and play more) but moving on the Wet. I think can we mentioned as the complete oposite. I honestly only played the demo, and it just felt like a stylized version of strangle hold or Max Payne. Even through the demo it just felt like someone decided to make a generic action game and was watching kill bill at the time. Might sound harsh but it just felt cheap and thrown together.

Pricing points may help games like this, as there is a rather large segment of the market that are casual gamers, that will just by something because it looks ok and doesn't cost much.

With regards to the Wii and Wiiplay, I think what nintendo have actually managed to do is open up the videogame market up to many more people. I know fan boys complain that there aren't enough hardcore games, well that is simply because hardcore gamers aren't don't own the market share of Wii's, normal everyday people do. Yes I'm implying that us gamers aren't the normal everyday people :) Hardcore gamers don't own the most Wii's everyone else does and so that is who they are aiming at. I can't tell you how many times I'm shocked by people who I don't expect to have played a game in years, or at all for that matter, say they have a Wii.

For the hardcore gamers, I think, and I think the general consensus is, have a Wii, and have a PS3 or 360. I have all 3, and unfortunately the 360 has been gathering the most dust of late. Lack of trust in it's reliability, on top of nothing exciting in the exclusive of late just make it sit there for now. I wasn't very blown away by Halo 3 and didn't even bother with ODST. Last thing I played on it was Gears 2.

final word, if you haven't played uncharted 2 yet, PLAY IT!

All these posts and no comments on pricing! I have been playing games since the days when 35 dollars was considered a lot. Do to the price of games, I buy fewer games at release and wait until they come down in price. I usally make a list an only buy them when they hit 40 or less. I will spend the money on a AAA game like UC2 but, I order them from Amazon so I don't pay tax or shipping. This usally saves me 5 to 6 dollars. This high price structure is why Madden did not do well this year. It's crazy to think a company can sell the same game each year with a few tweaks and ask the same amount. The roster could be a DLC for 10 to 15 and call it good. If I spend above 40 dollars it better be somthing the pro reviewers are braging about.
Enjoy your show keep up the good work!!!!

I really think if they did make some games 40 I would be more willing to try them, because right now I am holding on to my money for those I know (or feel) like will be worth the full 60.

And how much support I will get from a game also plays a part into if I am going to buy it or not. Support is why blizzard, bethesda and bungie are dancing in cash.

though on that note support really works on nonlinear and multiplayer games

I picked up Uncharted 2 at midnight and played it all freaking night. I couldn't put the controller down. It was the most well paced, exciting and entertaining game I have probably ever played. I'm already re-playing the campaign, it is that good.

And the multiplayer and co-op are addictive as well. Absolute, hands down GOTY.
