Both Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch have shed their mascot platforming pasts in the PlayStation 3 generation. The latter's hero (or anti-hero, if you choose) adventure, inFamous, struck a chord with gamers earlier this year and Sucker Punch appears keen to move forward on inFamous 2…but apparently Sucker Punch is recasting its main character, Cole McGrath, in the process.
"First voiceover/motion capture audition today for a video game," said actor David Sullivan over Twitter this morning. "Re-casting of Cole in the sequel of Infamous. 'I'll melt your face.' e.g"
Cole was previously voiced by actor Jason Cottle. According to Cottle's IMDB profile, he is currently not working on anything else at the moment. His last project is listed as inFamous.
Sullivan is probably best known for starring in the indie time track flick Primer (which comes highly recommended if you're interested in a realistic take on the pitfalls of time travel). He asked for advice from his Twitter followers, including actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who voiced Moya in the first game. It's unclear if she's returning in inFamous 2.
"You would be AWESOME as 'Cole'!" she told Sullivan. "Go BOOK it, buddy! :)"
According to Sullivan's Twitter timeline, he should actually be at the audition right now. I've reached out to Sony regarding Sullivan's comments, but do not expect much of an answer.

Cole's voice seemed out of place at times in the story of inFAMOUS, but the gameplay was really fun.

I absolutely loved inFamous, and I thought the actor that did Cole was great. Can't make a judgement call until I hear someone else try it. I think it would be pretty neat if the sequel went a different direction depending on which path you ended up choosing.

basing it on the previous game would be dumb, i went down the good path first then the evil path so i have evil as my last save but i wouldnt want the second game to be based off that. it should restart neutral and u can choose good and evil or whatever again...also i would love if you could move like the reaper conduits, it looks so sick the way they "flashstep" (if any of you watch bleach lol)
anyways yea infamous 2 will be amazing and is deff a game i will be following when more comes out about it down the road!!

I agree with Wess105 about Cole's voice sounding out of place, even my fiancee said something I she could careless about inFamous or the people voicing the characters. I also agree with hoof_hearted4 about the game being based off of the previous game. It would seem dumb given that you have the option to be good or evil. How would that crossover to another game? I say set the game in a different city with a new main character but still have some characters return along with the First Sons and the ray sphere, maybe even have Cole shows up.

How would having two diverging paths be dumb? I have two different saved games as well. You start up inFamous 2 with one of those saved files, your pick, and the choices you made directly influence the world you are living in. Secondly, they open up the option for a sequel based on Cole at the end of the game with the coming of the "beast". Personally, I think it would be fantastic to see the far reaching effects of either a saint with super powers or the morally repugnant monster (in fact, I think it would be completely off the chart cool if the "beast" actually turned out to be you as well depending on your path).

Maybe he's doing another future/alternate reality Cole who'll be the exact opposite of what you opt your character to be? It should be interesting.
I just don't see why they would recast Jason. He was good!
I liked his "hero" voice in the demo. The retail game had an added "gravel" to his voice which was appropriate for Evil Cole, but not so much Hero Cole.

Cole got his through "Kessler's" ray sphere. How was he originally supposed to get them?

Whether or not your specific actions from inFamous influence inFamous 2's direction, I do hope the morality choices in the sequel have more impact on the game. Ultimately, you still kind of saved the day and many missions still had you doing good things, even if you were one hell of an evil dude.

I hope they answer how "Kessler/......." (Thought I was gonna spoil something for ya huh?) and the Nemesis got their powers that wasn't clear at all. But I want them to do a lot especially since they have Mo-Cap this time it Will be awesome I new they were gonna do it cuz they built a relationship With The Naughties(Naughty Dog). Oh my god with the right casting this game could fill the void of something the first game left even though the first was Fantastic. Plus they should get Naughty Dog to help them with a story or Improved story.

I guess I didn't really think of the game loading your previous file and then forming a world/game around that. While that would be awesome, how would that work for new players, your basicly forcing new players to buy and beat the original.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed how the game played very similar as an evil Cole or a good Cole. It was still worth playing both but like you said not a ton changed.

PK makes a very good point like he does so often. Choices need a bigger impact and influence on the game. Also how about branching out and letting us play some missions from the villains point of view. Whatever direction they take the game Im sure it will be an intersting twist. Sucker Punch, inFamous 2, sold. Let me know when I can pre-order.

This one was pretty good and I should have borrowed it when I had the chance. Seen the gameplay and it was awesome! And I think a part 2 is a good direction, might just raise the ante a bit on it.
Never seen the full story but know structurally how it was well crafted by the developers, pretty distinctive if you tell me. I'll bet it'll be the same but with a lil twist and a more morally involved. I think it was a good way and a nice way to introduce games to the world of right or wrong. Pretty cool and I'll bet part 2 should also be fine as well.

just picked up infamous, uncharted 2, and arkhem(360 version) from toys'r'us using their buy two, get one free deal. i wanted demon's souls instead of infamous, but they didn't have it. it's not on their website either.

It would be good if they throw in another ray sphere victim. He/she could have other type of power like fire and would be fighting with or against Cole. That would be good story. Then throw in The Beast that caused it all. They can have tag team against "The Beast" or have a triple threat match against it.(Sorry for the WWE references =P)

Not sure how many people picked up on this but i'm pretty sure, Cole, is "The Beast" form a divergent timeline.

they should make the character black and get rid of cole yeah the first infamous was sweet but the character didn't fit the story we're playing with a guy that looks like a skinhead trying to be like spider-man but for some reason the character fit the role better when the evil side was played yeah lose cole and put someeles in!!!!!!
