Patrick Klepek: The new trailer for Modern Warfare 2 is a slick piece of work. I didn't see the twist at the end coming -- which I'll refrain from discussing in the event that you're keeping yourself intentionally in the dark -- but after the high of the surprise, I felt a little let down. Imagine how cool it would have been to experience that revelation in the game? Unfortunately, in our micromedia-obsessed culture, we want something new, something different, something fresh every single day. In a world without that kind of expectation, I wonder if Infinity Ward would have showed that hand from their deck. But maybe it it's not their fault -- it's mine. I didn't have to watch it, right?

I really need to mention this. I think our culture has become too reliant upon acronyms as a form of communication. I mean I really understand it on things like LASER, SCUBA and RADAR, but come on now it has really seeped into everyday talk. Especially when people on here discuss video games.

So I hope the new DLC for GTA IV on the 360, TBOGT, is just as good as the first DLC, TLAD. They are both in HD so I can play them on my LCD HDTV and get better picture than my CRT that is an SDTV. Hopefully they will soon release the GOTY version of GTA IV. I have been playing a lot of U2 on my PS3, the band and the game. But U2MP is fun. I am really looking forward to some AC2. Yep you heard right I am thinking of popping in AC2 into my PS2 because I just love me some airplane games. Also I am looking forward to AC2 because I also like stealth blades. And I am going to play me some AC2 because mech games turn me on. Don t even get me started on GOW 1 & 2. I hated those games, but I absolutely loved GOW 1 & 2 that are only available on the other console. Oh lest I forget BL is coming out the same day as Uch2.

I know this makes me sound like an old fuddy-dud, but sometimes the abbreviations used have nothing to do with the posted story and I can t figure out for the life of me what that person meant. But in the mean time I am looking forward to some news soon about I2.

We made out culture what it is. We gorge ourselves on information at such a rapid pace that the only way to keep our attention is to keep putting everything you can out there. And then when something is posted, it's always met by some mouth breather with righteous anger issues, complaining that the update wasn't timely enough, or it's on the wrong console, when really the problem is they have sand where they shouldn't and can't figure out that all they need to do is wash.

I feel better now that the big run on sentence is out of the way.

@Fats - I have two words for you - leet speak. English abbreviated and bad spelling, zero punctuation, and numbers. WTF?

Yeah I watched it and it didn't seem like it revealed much of anything. Like the story of the first Modern Warfare was a good one anyways. I have never popped it in thinking "I want a compelling story or something that is going to keep me on the edge of my seat" Its always "Let's Kill Some Mother Fu#%ers!"

I don't plan on playing Modern Warfare 2, so it was kinda cool to check out whats in store for it.

With that said, I've been staying away from the stuff i AM interested in playing, like Brutal Legend and Uncharted 2, because I want to discover everything at my own pace, and not have things spoiled for me...

If you dont want the experiance spoiled for you...I guess...don't put yourself in a situation in which that'll happen?

Just ask yourself this. Did watching the trailer get you MORE excited to play the single player or LESS excited knowing a bit of the plot?

You know I learned a big lesson with Killzone 2; don't watch too many trailers or preview videos. I think I saw so much of that game that I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. After that I learned my lesson. Yea I will read previews but I don't watch trailers anymore, especially if I am definetly getting the game. Movies do a worse job though of putting too much of the good stuff in it's trailers.

I meant to watch Monday night football but I ended up having a 2 hour firefight in ODOST with a friend online. It's amazing what I'll do for 10 achievement points....

Anyway caught the highlights, shame I missed it.

I remember seeing this part when I saw a trailer recently. when it got to that part it actually piqued my curiosity in a game that I had no interest in playing before. Since I'm not a multiplayer fan I know this game won't be for me though

If the devs put it in a video, I think that they don't believe the information to be too important. In the video above, I think it really is meant to drum up even more interest, and while cool, that is probably not going to be the best/most important thing about the plot. If it is, then they dropped the ball and the idiot who put the trailer together needs to be flogged with some barbbed noodles!

I feel like the only person who wasn't impressed by that trailer, but I have a good reason. I've played Wolfenstein, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare, Rainbow 6: Vegas, F.E.A.R., Halo1,2,3, Battlefield 1942, BF: Vietnam, BF2, BF: Bad Company. CoD4, CoD:WaW, Gears of War1 + 2, Killzone2, and I'm not even done listing but I'm not about to start digging into the rest of my collection.

I'm a little tired of being on the battlefield, and I can't see MW2 being any different. Of course the trailer looks interesting. EVERY trailer is supposed to look interesting. You have to learn to look past the hype (there's a good segment about hype in the latest edition of Epic Battle Cry - skirmish 47 - but I've been saying the same thing for months now).

Also, I'll be watching reviews closely because I want to see if they came up with a better way to spawn people in Multiplayer. I'm sick of spawning under my own air strikes. And I hate spawning only to have an enemy player spawn right behind me for an easy kill. And the worst is spawning at the exact place where you just died.
No game has a perfect spawn system, but I've had the worst experiences with the Call of Duty engine over any other game. I hope Xplay makes a point to address this in their review.

Maybe when I'm done with Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend, Mass Effect2, and Assassin's Creed 2, I'll have a craving to get back into the fight. Until then, I need a break.
