If your preferred video game retailer of choice is the Movie Gallery subsidiary Game Crazy then there’s a chance that you’ll be forced to take your business elsewhere very soon. As Joystiq reports, the retailer has announced that it will be closing 200 of its roughly 680 stores over the next month.
Game Crazy attributed the closures to an “unprecedented consumer/retail environment,” and went on to say that they were issued to compensate for underperforming stores. No real surprise there since it wouldn’t make much sense to close stores that are still bringing in acceptable levels of cash, but let’s not quibble.
Anyone here a regular Game Crazy customer? If stores near you close, where you expect you’ll do most of your video game shopping?

meh, never actually bought anything from there. poor selection on the one attached to the Hollywood video.
Gamestop and Best buy are usually reliable and have good prices

There are no Gamecrazy stores here in Atlanta.

WTF is Game Crazy? I have never seen one here in MN.

This is terrible, gamecrazy is so much better than gamestop.

I preferred Game Crazy over GameStop, so this kind of sucks.. Better prices on used games (typically 5-10 dollars cheaper) and the employees were not typical GameStop duche bags.

For those that don't know, Game Crazy is like a poor man's Game Stop. They sell new and used games, however don't have as big of a selection in both areas. It's worth visiting from time to time for deals on random games. Bought a new Force Unleashed(PS3) at a GC for $15(many other retailers have it for much more).
Unfortunately I have a Game Stop within walking distance of my home, so they get more of my money and reserves than any other retailer.

Game Crazy sucks anyway, I always get my stuff from Gamestop. Better deals and promotions and the guys and gals at my Gamestop are awesome.

Disappointing, hope the one near my location isn't one being closed. They were always more pleasant and better priced then GameStop. I'll just have to find another 3rd party place to buy games (that isn't GameStop, not interested in any way) or just use Amazon/Steam to fill my gaming needs.

Game Crazy is a strange video game store I've seen. Almost all games they're selling have damaged cases or nothing on the cover, just words. GameStop is pretty close to my home but I usually buy video games at Best Buy or Circuit City, sometime Target.

yeah. game crazy sucks anyway soooooo.

I've never even seen a Game Crazy here in Florida. We did have a movie gallery, but it closed some time ago.

I went to GameCrazy on 9/9 to get the Beatles rock band....was there right when the store opened and they didn't have any copies available to purchase unless you preordered it. So Game Crazy closing is not much of a surprise when they have business practices that don't give you a supply for the demand.
and the guys at my local gamestop are not only extremely knowledgeable but also friendly....I can't count how many times i went in to the store just to buy a game and ended up spending at least 1/s hour just shooting the poopoo(since i can't use the other word) with the manager.

Screw Gamestop AND Game Crazy. I buy sell and trade local.. both stores have gotten increasingly worse deals and crappier staff over the years and with all the corporate changes for both stores lately I'm afraid this is just the beginning.

They have better prices on used games than Gamestop. They just don't have the budget that Gamestop has. I find that the cool dude to douchetard ratio is the same at both stores.

I go to game crazy for midnight release only i bought halo 3, gears 2, and this year modern warfare 2

I've never seen or been in a Game Crazy here in TN only Gamestop and Best Buy.
progta
GAMESTOP IS THE BEST STORE TO BUY GAMES.

Movie Gallery??? WTF? GameCrazy is part of Hollywood Video around here.....
user_infinity
I've never seen a Game Crazy here in Texas, but there are gamestops everywhere in the Houston area.
Tmidiman
Forget them both. I go to Fryes or buy new from Amazon or used from Blockbuster. Even Best Buy will have a few games on sale and have better deals. It pays to shop arond for the best deal.
But if you need your mom to take you around to the store I guess you're stuck.
