. During our visit, we got our hands on the upcoming downloadable content pack for Gears 2 called "Dark Corners," which consists of seven new multiplayer maps and the deleted scene "Road to Ruin." For more on that, read our hands-on preview here.
We also got to sit down and talk with three of Epic's major players: company founder and CEO Tim Sweeney, design director Cliff Bleszinski, and Gears 2 executive producer Rod Fergusson. Topics included the new content, as well as thoughts on the direction of the industry, motion control, digital distribution, and much more.

After this weekend, I don't think I want to play any more Gears 2 online. It took 20 min to find a match, and when I did, it was always some little brat talking crap like he was a bad ass in Gears and then him and his little buddies would glitch when they where getting owned.
I broke my headset in half, and from now on I'm muting everyone but my friends. It sucks that these little turds online have to ruin a game I really enjoy playing online with the cheating and talking s%t afterward like they actually earned a win. I'm playing private X Box Live until All Fronts comes out.

yeah i stop playing gears2 online a long time ago cause the matchmaking is horrible and theres always some little kid ruining the game cause they cant shut up samething goes for halo 3 always someone ruining the game for everyone else

yeah im pumped for the maps but the price is always a ripoff. i think they need to put all the extra maps we downloaded for gears 1 into gears 2. cuz tahts just wasted money.

I totally agree. I haven't played Gears in quite some time because of the little kids and the cheating. Plus the wait times to get into a match are awful. Epic really dissapointed me. Gears 1 was way more fun than this game online. All i do is play private. At least they got that right.

is it just me or is this blog oozing with tons of corruption and blood money from xbox and epic games? when will someone just get some balls and ask epic up front why their game is broken..full of bugs and lag..no matter how many updates they put up. it still doesnt fix it. and why they feel the need to add more content. is it just to try to take away that awful truth?

The lag you're suffering from is mostly the douchebags who've created lag-switches - There's even a great "how-to" video on YouTube. While I've experienced NO bugs, personally, I know several people who have constant problems. I'd really like to see a TU that addresses the lag-switchers. Instead of THEM getting penalized, I lose 1500 points for quitting a CRAP match to report a switcher?! That's something that dedicated servers could monitor & fix, YA HEAR THAT, CLIFFYB?!?!?! Such an easy fix compared to all the complaining.

Best part about the latest Title update for Gears 2 is that now douchebags have found ways to get out of maps ala Gears 1. GAAAAAAAAAAY!

Nope you get no money from me EPIC. I loved gears 1 and now I have a broken crappy gears 2. Thanks I will run out and give you some money asap. NOT! Fix your broken game, matchmaking, cheating. Kinda cool how Bungie bans people for cheating yet everyone gets away with it on gears 2.

i've had so many bugs that it mostly has me feel like i'm going to hulk out. one time i was knocked down by a smoke grenade and couldn't get back up but i was able to switch weapons around.. another bug was as i was playing as a drone instead of holding a weapon my arms were propped up like the karate kid.
i've known about the lag switchers and i've even seen how some of those punks were able to get 5 people in 4 on 4 match or as i've seen far too many times. a group of F##kers that somehow end up being on both teams.
cliffy b won't fix anything for his games since i'm sure his title at the company creative designer the last i heard. doesn't really apply for him to fix a thing but concepts or demo the game in front of media. the game is broken because they rushed to bring out the title for microsoft.

i wanted to rant and complain some myself, but with everyone's comments so far, that pretty much sums it all up. so thumbs up everyone, except for the g4 guys that didnt ask about y the heck gow2 is broke.

I played last week for a few hours just to try again and I actually had no problems but I still won't pay them for dlc.
I loved the campaign though and wouldn't mind some more of that.

I watched all 3 videos very useful for soon to be game developers like myself but BAD because NO one mentioned the 2 worst things that completely ruined the multiplayer HOST AND LAG. They never used either of those words once. I think Tim Sweeny is such a good programmer beceause he cannot communicate to other people like normal people do. That is how a lot (not all) left brain people are they speak in sticcado use big words and do a poor job of communicating their ideas to others, without complexity and confusion. For example "Company X" why no just say other compnay!? anyways my point is the programming at EPIC is what is causing this game to fail on the online and I keep breaking stuff because of HOST advantage lag switching, standbuying, and LAG, and that is why Gears is always number 4 in most played online. THEY need to say hey we have a big problem and say we are working very hard to fix it and not just in the forums I wanted them to say it out loud with words and that DID NOT HAPPEN, sigh, now I want to play but I know the anger that will happen afterwards

Don't you just love these guys? I could punch that smug idiot Clifford in the face,over and over and I wouldn't get bored.... 3 videos each around 10 mins, not a mention about lag or host, nothing!
The match making! Let us play what we want! If I wanna play annex on a public snowblind match, I might have to wait all day, as I might not get the annex option!
Gears 2 is broken Epic, fix this poo before everyone everyone deserts you!
