Tales of Monkey Island WiiWare Release Date Still Not Finalized

The reason Tales of Monkey Island: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal still hasn't launched on WiiWare is because a release date hasn't been finalized with Nintendo yet, according to the latest update from developer Telltale Games. The news comes as Telltale is contacting media outlets about the WiiWare version, which will be shown at next week's Comic-Con in San Diego.

"The Tales of Monkey Island series premiere release is expected very soon [on WiiWare]," said the company in an e-mail. "We're working with Nintendo on finalizing this date and expect to have news to share shortly."

Having finished the first episode in Tales of Monkey Island, there's very good reason for Wii fans to be demanding a release date: the game's really damn good.

Kinda disappointing that you have to jump through so many hoops with Nintendo to get a WiiWare game out... You'd think by now it would be streamlined, especially for AA or AAA titles like this... (Depends on your reference to what is a AA or AAA title) but none-the-less this title should make some nice income and bring some life into the nearly forgotten console. Especially after the heartwrenching Conduit release, that for some was ok and to many others was inexcusable after such a long production time. Also before anyone calls me some other console fanboy... I don't have any other consoles besides the Wii, I'm one of those PC social outcasts... WAH

Looks like the Monkey Island XBLA was a hoax too. I looked on Amazon to buy it now and it's not there... I looked on xbox.com and there's not even a game listing for it. For a game releasing today, you would think it would at least have a listing on xbox.com. This is disappointing. :(
