Since he’s not busy launching himself into space (again), legendary game designer Richard Garriott spent some time with G4tv to discuss the importance of independent game development and promote the Indie Game Challenge. In addition to being one of the driving forces behind the Ultima series, Garriott is one of 12 game makers to be inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences hall of fame. Despite his huge status in the gaming business, Garriott still has a soft spot for indie development and sees it as an important source of innovation for the entire industry. Be sure to watch the full interview to hear Lord British’s thoughts on indie games.
