There was much rejoicing when Bethesda Softworks revealed the ongoing, extensive downloadable content support for Fallout 3

would no longer remain exclusive only to Xbox 360 and PC. PlayStation 3 owners have been begging for the add-ons, too, with Bethesda dodging reporters' questions on the subject. In May, when Bethesda announced PlayStation 3 support, they also issued a release date for the first content -- late June.
Obviously, it's not late June anymore. What happened? Nothing showed up on the PlayStation Store this week and Bethesda's been mum on the subject. Fallout 3's downloadable debut on PS3 may have been delayed, but an update is coming.
"[We'll] have [an] update for folks on that next week," said marketing VP Pete Hines in an e-mail to me.
Operation: Anchorage is the first downloadable add-on scheduled for PS3 owners, following the same order of release on the other platforms. That means you'll have to wait, just like Xbox 360 and PC owners did, for the level up to be raised with the Broken Steel content, which won't be arriving for a number of weeks.

I'll buy this game when they release all of the DLC on the disc in a G.O.T.Y. version like COD4 did.

"[We'll] have [an] update for folks on that next week,"
? Does the "that" he's reffering to mean we're actually going to get the dlc next week, or is it going to be an update on when we will see the dlc?

Sold my 360 copy since my 360 broke so I'm looking forward to buying the edition with all 5 packs

It's funny I didn't even notice it hadn't come out yet. I gave up on Bethesda a while back. I wish they would release a patch fixing the "flying bodies" and the random freezes, and dumb AI. Heck it might be fixed by now but I quit playing Fallout 3 after around 70 hours a long time ago. I never did get around to finishing either because I started a new game after the trophies were released. So the DLC is not aimed at me.

I'm confused by ambiguous statements with substituted bracketed words. Are we finally gonna get to play it next week, or are we gonna learn that it could still be a while. If i have to wait much longer i think all this excitement inside is going to make me spontaneously combust. I WANT IT NOW!!!

I dunno, friend of mine has the PC version of Busted A22 Steel..He says it hangs the PC when exiting the game (1 iin 10 chance) but when it does it takes out 3 of your save game slots....nice. Could be why PS3 stuff is delayed they're too busy doing triage on their other platform releases.

haha. no one cares about the ps3. valve doesn't, bethesda doesn't, activision almost doesn't. and to the dude about the glitches and flying bodies, i have played medal of honor airborne and call of duty 3 and 4 on the ps3 and that is very common. never happens on the 360 though.

Sorry I don't have something more specific guys -- all Bethesda would say is there would be news next week. Does that mean DLC next Thursday? Maybe, maybe not.

it is about time!!

To be honest I owned fallout 3 for ps3. Best game in my top 5 for PS3 but I only played once. Can't wait for Broken Steel so i can work on more quests without having to start over.

At the very least, it better be an EXACT date. I finally had a chance to sit down this week and play my Fallout and I was pissed off that there was nothing there on the Playstation store and no word anywhere. Nothing on the news, nothing on their blog, nothing on their twitter. Thanks for prodding, Patrick, my rage is placated, for now...

I wouldn't mind if they just weren't so tight-lipped about it. It took months for them to say whether or not the PS3 would even see the DLC. Then out of nowhere they mention that they were waiting to see how it sold on 360 and PC and that it'd be ready in June. I figured they meant the end of June, so I wasn't too worried when it didn't show up. In fact, I wouldn't even care that they missed that estimate except for they went back to saying nothing. Over a week later all they have to say is, |we'll tell you something next week." Honestly, this is making it easier to just wait for the GOTY version. I was probably going to do that anyway, but I was waiting to see just how much space the DLC would take. Seriously, I'm used to game developers needing to take extra time and delaying, but it's not too hard to at least acknowledge the missed time frame. People tend to get upset when there isn't at least that much.

i remember back when i accually LIKE bethesda...
