For every news story about how video games are damaging our children, there's another instance where video games are doing great things. One such case, documented by ABC Action News in Florida, involved training patients to earn back some of their mobility through various exercises featured in Wii Fit.

One woman claimed she was able to move more and more, little by little, after starting the Wii Fit-based program. "Even a 10% change for me is wonderful," she said.

Thumbs up, video games.

my mom would never ever play a video game of any sort, and the other night she saw something on TV about the new Wii resort games, and she wants one now. I am thinking of getting her one for her birthday.

I finally see what Nintendo's real plan is, the real reason they made a vitality sensor, they're going to take over hospitals and get into medice with the wii, soon the wii will replace your doctors!!

its good to see nintendo doing the best thing they know how, selling out to ever last demographic they can get there hands on. I believe they used to have these things in hospitals people used to get their motor skills back, physical therapy is for the lazy. Just give me Wii fit and i'll be able to dance again after I get hit by a bus.

Don't really see how Wii Fit is selling out to anyone by opening up new markets, it's very smart business. The ONLY obligation that Nintendo has is to its shareholders and its employees to make sound business decisions, and this is yet another example of Nintendo doing that, which they do well. And I think it's great for a video game company to make a game that fights obesity and can help people in more ways than just entertainment, it is helping peel back the stigma that surrounds video games in popular media and will only benefit the industry as a whole.
