Final Fantasy makers Square Enix has launched a site for a new game, but rather than telling us what the new game is or why we should care, the site features a hand-drawn, bucolic scene, a number "4," an old-school chiptunes song and, most shockingly of all, a countdown clock!
So Square is essentially revealing the fact that it plans to reveal something in around nine days. Thanks, Square.
I asked X-Play's host Adam Sessler what he thought the sight could portend, and he said, "I hope Square is announcing a sequel to The Bouncer." Somehow, I doubt that's going to happen...
MMO Report producer Patrick Roche-Sowa and I put our heads together and determined that, to the best of our knowledge, Square doesn't have a series with three games in it, so we think the old-school video game music and the number four refer to Final Fantasy IV. The big announcement could be that FF IV is going to be ported to some other system. But, who knows? One thing is for sure, though: I really hate countdown clocks.
What do you think Square Enix is up to with this one? Any thoughts on what game might be announced when the announcement clock winds down?

I would love a Bouncer sequel.Bouncer was so underrated it was ridiculous, DoC should have been more like Bouncer.
cmdluke
would love it to be information on the FFXIII demo on PSN but I really doubt it.

OH another effin count down......

I read on another blogpost that they Trademarked another title with 4 in it, but considering there is a chiptunes song on the site, it's possible that it's a remake,...or maybe a new IP designed old school...that seems to be a trend these days...
MahBoiTaarec10
How about Kingdom Hearts 3 or FF VII remake for the PS3.
MahBoiTaarec10
or another Final Fantasy spin off for the DSi

sigh, are these stupid count down clocks becoming a trend? I sure hope not. They make me not even want to know whatever it is being count down to.

Chrono Trigger - Radical Dreamers - Chrono Cross
Give us the next game in the Chrono series, Square!
Although I don't think Radical Dreams actually counts, so we're still stuck at two in the series. :(

HYPE! this hype that. When I see a count down clock I just look the other way. I doubt it will even make it to the end before someone leaks the info. The game industry is notorious for not keeping secrets. Where is my ff13?

From now on, boycott every idiot game maker that has to put a count down. Final Fantasy as a whole is only loved because of graphics anyway.

Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core. the next installment in the FFVII series will be a prequel.
No but it's probably Final Fantasy 4 being ported to psn.

Way to break the site, mundy. :)

@Luna_Saisho
You have no idea what you talking about, so stop.
Ppl who only play FPS or sports games are graphic whores,
RPG players like a deep story, and the looks are a nice touch.
