It seems the team over at THQ’s Vigil Games will soon be movin’ on up to a massive new studio in Austin, Texas. Kotaku reports that the 33,000-square foot office should provide Vigil the space it needs to continue development on its apocalyptic action title Darksiders (January 2010 – Xbox 360, PS3), as well as on its Warhammer 40,000 MMO that is still a few years out.
THQ said of the big move, “We are very excited about the strong development talent at Vigil Games and we view Austin as a great location to attract employees engaged in video game development.”
And attracting new blood will soon be more important than ever, given that THQ plans to lay off as many as 600 employees over the coming months.
