PSA: GameStop Selling Wii Motion Plus For $25 (Spoiler: It's Only $20)

Wii Motion Plus GameStop Price

GameStop appears to be selling Wii Motion Plus for $24.99 when its MSRP is $19.99. Is this a computer error or conscious attempt to gouge Wii owners on the new peripheral?

Luckily, GameStop is correctly pricing the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 Wii Motion Plus bundle at $59.99, which is, of course, the only way to buy Wii Motion Plus.

If you got hit for $25 buying Motion Plus at a GameStop, I suggest you head in and get your $5 back. You'll probably end up putting it down for a game reservation that comes with an exclusive in-game power-up that doesn't even activate correctly...

A quick call to my local GameStop confirmed that this isn't an online-only error. The company is actually over-charging for the peripheral. Lame.

@Brian They might just have it wrong as an error, and then change it later. It could just be a temporary price. They did the same thing with Tony Hawk Ride. If you check, they lowered the price $80 from $200.

Gamestop have always been Thieves, so no surprise there. I wish they had left EBgames alone and not made them part of their Corrupted company. Would have been better off not existing at all.

If and when they adjust the price to reflect the retail value, do you really think that GameStop will go out of their way to reimburse those that already paid $25 for the Motion Plus device?

Having worked in retail for years I can't say this is shocking. Every store occasionally sells products for more than the MSRP price, and also sells some products under the MSRP price. I have no idea how its decided, all I know is that it happens frequently and for some reason G4 decided this time it was offensive.

Wurd... I prefer Target. They always have some kind of sale going on on some select games. I got COD4 for $37 the day after Christmas 2007. I had a $20 giftcard to so it was like $17. Long story short... I prefer Target.

gamestop always overcharges an rips off their customers.thats why I dont do business with them at all.I dont buy anything from them an I dont sell them any thing.If I were you guys Id just stick with my local video game stores an best buy.

Trying to blame this and throwing a tantrum at Gamestop employees themselves is foolish, immature, and asinine. They don't have anything to do with the prices, leave them the eff alone.

As for the price, I'm not surprised. Rhythm Heaven was five bucks overpriced, too, and I'm sure it's not the end.
