Whether you need extra energy while raiding Ironforge, or you just want to stay awake longer when you're grinding 85 million Furbolgs, Pepsico has just the drink for you: World of Warcraft-themed Mountain Dew.
The new Dew comes in two exciting colors: Horde Red and Alliance Blue, so you'll be able to indicate your allegiance through your soft drink choice. The brightly colored, carbonated sugar-water will be available in stores near you this month and will be available throughout the summer. Check out the official site for details, a contest, and other soft-drink promotional materials.
A careful analysis of the nutritional information reveals that The Horde's Citrus Cherry flavored concoction contains 10 more calories than The Alliance's Wild Fruit flavor. This is because The Horde is clearly superior and can handle the extra calories, where The Alliance just aren't extreme enough to deal. Also: Judging by the flavor choices, Pepsico is clearly indicating The Alliance are a bunch of wild fruits.
Mountain Dew has long been associated with gaming in the popular consciousness, but personally, I never drink the stuff. I prefer either coffee or gin. I'm probably revealing personal information here, but some of my fellow G4-ians have been downing a ton of five-hour energy drink lately. What about you? What's your gaming beverage of choice, and do you think the stereotypes of gamers as having unhealthy diets is true? Like some stereotypes, I think there's some definite accuracy at the bottom of this one: Last week was E3, and I'm telling you, that convention center was packed with unhealthy people. Still, I wonder if it was more unhealthy than the rest of the country. People in the U.S are really putting on pounds, know what I mean?

Terrifying...

this has already been around for a couple of weeks in grand rapids (apparently west michigan is a good test to see how a product will do in a national market, so we get a lot of food and drink products before anyone else). i think the alliance wild fruit is far more delicious than the horde cherry flavor (the same flavor as the halo 3 game fuel flavor (yuck)). the wild fruit tastes suspiciously, just like the mountain dew baja blast flavor at taco bell. i have always wanted baja blast to be a mainstream flavor available in stores. also, wild fruit mt. dew goes well with vodka. i highly recommend wild fruit over the cherry. the end.

The more you game, the less time you have for the gym... or even walking. If you want to get in shape, go play with your Wii Fit.
Beverage of choice = water. I'm so over carbonated sugar water.

My soda of choice is Mt.Dew, and I'm generally a fan of all their flavors. I tried red Game fuel this weekend, it was alright. I'm 33, I've been gaming since the 2600, and I weigh about 180. I've gained maybe 5, 10 lbs since HS? I run quite a bit, ride my bike occasionally, I stay fairly active. Unfortunately I probably am a minority among gamers.

Exactly icemanMX. The last thing WoW addicts who're locked in their room all day and night need is 16 ounces of 200 calories.

LOL. Only the hardest hard-hitting news available on the internets. This product is exactly what all of the WoW nerds sitting in their basements who haven't seen daylight in years need, branded sugar and calories. You'll never see a WoW branded soccer ball I bet.

Oh, and just to clarify, I am not a WoWer.

baggypants, you have been appointed TheFeed's resident expert on Mountain Dew. From now on, when I have a Mountain Dew themed story to post, I will consult you for your expert opinion. This is an office of the highest honor.

I loved that Gamefuel they put out for Halo 3. I wish that was still around, the first time I drank it I got a huge buzz, I couldn't believe it.
Infamous_Bizarro

You can get active gaming...For example I'm sweating my junk off right now because of how fierce a power-stance I've had for an hour playing the new Iron Maiden DLC for Rock Band!!! Now that my legs are lunged out I will switch to drums for my upper body and then to vocals to get my cardio. Wii fit can bite my hairy metal ass. UP THE IRONS!!!!
Tmidiman
Yeah, Baja Blast ROCKS! Ok Now I'm gonna go have some Taco Bell for lunch,.....or maybe White Castle.
Tmidiman
LOL, SJ you are on a roll today!

I would say that stereotype of gamers haveing a bad diet is true. At least in my case because after work I wanna go home and play games for a couple of hours, that leaves me no time to cook something healthy, or anything at all, so its either A&W, Tim Hortons, Or Dominoes, and that NOT healthy. But i think that point is dead on about it probably not just being gamers with unhealthy Diets, I think its alot of north america at least.

I'm a huge WoW junkie and I'm pretty damn skinny. I run and work out enough to keep from looking like Reuben Studdard. Actually, out of my geeky crowd, I know only 1 WoWer who is overweight, and that's saying something since I know a lot of WoW heads. As far as energy goes, I normally choose what looks good in the gas station that day, though I am anxious to give these new ones a try. It's hard to find energy drinks that I can actually feel an effect from. Maybe that's because I'm Horde and hardcore.
porky247
i know this has been around for a while now

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
not more wow stuff, i hate that game now, sure i use to love it, but in the end i started hating it, it must be stopped!
I'm hoping Star Wars the Old Republic will, but it would have to be extreme to do so
