The latest patch for Killzone 2 has been delayed, according to the official Killzone 2 Twitter account. This is a bummer for gamers who were looking forward to the new "high precision" controls Guerrilla Games is implementing into their shooter.
One of the most common complaints leveled against Killzone 2 was a somewhat intangible feeling of not-so-snappy controls. Essentially, Killzone 2's controls weren't designed to allow twitch-based combat like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Most people just became accustomed to the new setup, but Guerrilla Games is introducing a new "high precision" control tweak with the latest patch.
"It makes the analog sticks more responsive to small movements," explained the PlayStation Blog earlier this week. "Turned off, the controls behave exactly as they did before the patch. It’s not a radical overhaul of the control system, so the layout and the ‘weight’ of the controls remain the same. … Existing Killzone 2 players will have the option turned off by default after patching – we wouldn’t want to force a sudden change to the controls on you!"
There's no new release date for the Killzone 2 patch, but it's definitely not coming this week. Guerrilla Games "wasn't given an exact date, but it shouldn't be much longer."
Having not played Killzone 2's multiplayer after finishing the single-player campaign and grinding my teeth about the controls the whole way through, maybe this will prompt me to pop it in. Or not.

I got used to the controls halfway through the second level. People just like to whine and complain about anything and everything. I wont mind a change in controls but I not joining the whine-fest.

No offense, but I suggest you give KZ2 another shot, Bleahy evidently seems to be doing just fine with the controls. Hell If I remember correctly, based on the screenshot he posted in his thread, it looked like he took top spot. If he didnt, oh well, my mistake, I dont think he would complain of me giving him a compliment lol... or would he?

The controls aren't a problem, i still used the L1 to aim because i'm used to it. but if i see alot of run&gun noobs after this patch i'll be disappointed, they should slow down the sprint a bit though, it's a bit annoying to snipe.

well the Campaign controls were NOT edited when people went nutz over the Button Delay for Multiplayer. KZ2's MP control wise has always played better then the Campaign controls.
KZ2 is already filled with a bunch of Run'n'Gun players. Zooming in to fire leads to death really quickly unless your far away.
If you can't Snipe in KZ2 your not that good then...
because KZ2 is as basic of an FPS there is.
