Niko Partners, a market research firm, estimates that China's online-gaming market will hit 3.8-billion dollars in 2009. This is roughly a 38-percent increase from 2008, when online gaming generated 2.75-billion dollars. China is growing so briskly that Niko Partners expects it to hit 8.9-billion by 2013. While the country's population is over 1.3-billion, that's still a ridiculous amount of money being spent on online gaming.
Forget the disgusting amount of pollution emanating from Beijing. Forget about the rampant human rights violations in the nation's recent history. China is an online gaming powerhouse! I expect the country to buy Blizzard and force all WoW players to read Quotations from Chairman Mao daily.
