Remember that Capcom announcement we told you about last week? Here's the word: Capcom has officially announced Lost Planet 2. If you want to check out the first footage of the upcoming third-person shooter, look below to watch the nine minute video. The video features several minutes of game footage along, with an interview with Lost Planet 2's director Kenji Oguro.
Lost Planet 2 Xbox Live Announcement
Here is some of what the video revealed: Since Lost Planet 2 is set 10-20 years after the first game, the planet has warmed and the ice has melted, giving players the chance to shoot it out in a variety of settings (jungle, etc.). The trailer even shows some boat travel! Nice! Rather than focusing on one character, Lost Planet 2 will tell the story of a variety of pirates. Although not confirmed, the video hints at co-op play.
The game uses Capcom's multiplatform MT Framework engine. Not only will this improve Lost Planet 2's visuals, it suggests that the game could come out on the PS3 and PC, as well. The only platform officially announced is the 360, but given Capcom's recently stated dedication to multiplatform releases, it seems likely that you'll be able to play it elsewhere too.
There is no release date for the game yet.
