Ryan Ketsenburg and his roommate returned back from a trip to their dorms at Missouri State to find that his Xbox 360 had been stolen.
According to the police report that Ketsenburg filed, the suspect entered an unlocked door and made off with the box.
I know what you're thinking: Who forgets to lock their door? Yeeeah. I know....
Still, you can't just go entering someone's room and loot somebody's Xbox while he's sleeping. That's grounds for at least a thumb removal, right?
Ketsenburg switched on his wireless Xbox controller to find that it still connected to his Xbox. So he figured his Xbox should be somewhere close.
He followed the controller's signal and located the room where the culprit had taken his Xbox.
The Xbox website reads that the wireless controller has a 30 foot range, and when out of range, Ketsenburg said the light-emitting diodes flashed on his controller.
They located his Xbox and with sufficient proof, dude got his Xbox back!
Ketsenburg is going to prosecute the guy who took it.
It's a bummer that Ketsenburg's Xbox 360 was stolen in the first place, but the ingenuity he displayed in finding it was pretty impressiving. Gamer geek thinking FTW!!!
