I'm sure some people are really p.o.ed that Harmonix is announcing some country tunes for next week's Rock Band DLC. But it is downloadable content and not something you have to ever play or go anywhere near.
I, for one, am very excited to see a new genre represented, and even though they picked new country which is 99% sewage, it shows there may be room for some good classic country, or soul, hip hop (Beastie Boys does not count,) or funk, R&B, even (shudder) jazz.
Hit this jizzy for the country track list and some other interesting tidbits.
Brad Paisley - “Mud on the Tires”
Brooks & Dunn - “Hillbilly Deluxe”
Dierks Bentley - “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)”
Dixie Chicks - “Sin Wagon”
Miranda Lambert - “Gunpowder & Lead”
Ty Colfax - "Why Pick the Crap?"*
So piss and moan all you want, RB purists, but keep in mind that this opens doors for an eventual variety, which is the spice of life by the way. Variety in RB music breaks down your ignorance of what the world has to offer and if video games can introduce you to Boston, why not Hank Williams?
*This song is not written and therefore not actually available in Rock Band. Yet.
