Ubisoft's anticipated FPS sequel, Far Cry 2, has now turned to gold as the company assures that it will make its retail debut this October 21. The game features gorgeous visuals and tons of detail as players explore a war-torn Africa.
Also, Ubisoft has confirmed through its forums that Far Cry 2 will be using the SecuROM DRM technology for PC installs. Here are the following details (via Shack News):
- You have 5 activations on 3 separate PCs.
- Uninstalling the game "refunds" an activation. This process is called "revoke", so as long as you complete proper uninstall you will be able to install the game elsewhere.
- Ubisoft is committed to the support of our games, and additional activations can be provided.
- Ubisoft is committed to the long term support of our games: you'll always be able to play Far Cry 2.
The same DRM technology is found in EA's sim title, Spore along with Crytek's FPS title, Crysis Warhead. Far Cry 2 will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms.
