This guy should win every fanboy award ever. Daniel Deutsch posted pictures on his website of a full size, completely drivable replica of Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder from Star Wars IV: A New Hope. And he built two robotic R2D2s that come packed with smoke machines, a hologram projector, over 50 audio clips taken from the films, and a DLP video projector. Oh, and he pictured the Landspeeder on the sidewalk in front of his Delorean. Seriously, I want to hang out with this dude.
The Landspeeder is completely custom, was built out of a fiberglass chassis from the ground up, the engine is an all electric drive system that can reach a top speed of 25 miles an hour, and the whole vehicle is 100% scale to the original prop from the film. Can you image how many of the neighborhood kids want to hang out at Deutsch's place? And how many time's he's been checked out by the cops for just that reason? Check out the source link for pictures of the assembly and a video of the Landspeeder coasting down the street.
