Kevin Smith's newest opus, Zack and Miri Make a Porno has been rated NC-17. Now, for a normal consenting adult above the age of 17, this might actually be an enticing reason to go see the film, something Smith could use as a marketing tool even.
The bad news is that it means the movie will not receive wide distribution and fans will be left without the option to see the movie in most cases. While the rating is under appeal, the sad eventual outcome will be that a less salacious version (in other words, not the artist's initial vision) will be released widely to theatres and then we'll get the director's cut on DVD a few months later.
Here's hoping for a crisp Blu-ray to get all that Silent Bob hotness in high definition. Also, is Alanis Morisette in this one?
