What You Need to Know
- Only 1.3 inches wide
- Pure titanium body helps with weight and toughness
- Just flip out the LCD to turn it on; it powers up in less than 2 seconds from sleep mode
- With the touch screen navigation sometimes you only need to tap it, other times it takes a really hard poke
- Icons are small, so it takes some getting used to; it feels like a stylus should be used
- Navigation is tough because options are buried deep in the menus
- It records video in 1080i
- Anything in daylight looks really good; colors are saturated and balanced well
- Medium to low light footage has too much grain; anything indoors could be a serious problem
- Auto focus is way too slow
- But image stabilization was good even zoomed in at 10x
- It is one of the best internet camcorders because of its 1080i recording, portability and ease of use
- Drag and drop MTS file format
- However, image quality was lacking
- Only records 25 minutes of high def footage on the included 4GB memory stick
- The Canon HF10 camcorder we saw and loved is comparably priced, and it has more features
