Neopets co-founders Adam Powell and Donna Williams have decided to expand their online gaming expertise by launching a new West Hollywood based games studio, Meteor Games.
The online Tamagotchi phenomenon, Neopets, has been their driving influence in creating the new studio. Although the founders have sold their website to MTV Networks in 2005 for $160 million, they still stick to their creation's success:
"Our experience developing the world and characters of Neopets provides us with a unique advantage as we create a more robust and in-depth experience with Meteor Games," said Powell, which will serve as the new studio's chief executive officer and creative director, while Williams will be seated as the chief operating officer and president.
The studio's first project is an unnamed MMO which will target a younger market. You know what type of game we hope to see from Meteor Games? A Capcom vs. SNK like rivalry: Neopets vs. Pokemon!
