There have been tons of rumors about the development of Diablo 3 over the years. More and more, however, it's looking like there could be an announcement at this year's Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Paris.
Remember, StarCraft II was announced at last year's event.
Not only does the WWI end on the anniversary of the release of Diablo 2 and Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction (June 29), now Blizzard has purchased Diablo3.com from the owner, Mockery.
The ex-owner of Diablo3.com says, however, "that this shouldn't be considered an announcement for the Diablo 3 game we've been waiting for all these years."
Diablo3.com currently redirects to Mockery's new site, DiabloFans.com, but will transition to Blizzard over the next few months.
We are hoping that we get an announcement on June 29th because Diablo is something we'd like Blizzard to get back to. For many of us (me), it developed our deep love of loot and mouse clicking.
What would you want out of Diablo 3? 2D or 3D? MMO or not?
