At 10 Shell gas stations around the country, customers can pay by touch using their fingerprints, which is digit-tally (LOL) linked to a credit card.
Now, someone will have to steal your finger to steal your identity. Or, you know, just hack into the computer storing your information, but that's neither here nor there.
Does this mark a new beginning in payment options? Will we all be paying by fingerprints in a few years? We doubt it. Mobil already has SpeedPass, which just requires you to wave a key fob near a sensor, but that isn't easy enough for Shell, apparently.
In this war for the most convenient way to buy overpriced gas, who will be the victor? We want to pay for gas just by thinking about it. Make that happen, science!
