Geoff Luurs had $4,000 worth of in-game Final Fantasy XI items stolen from him (most likely from a friend) and attempted to get help from the Blaine, Minnesota police department.
Turns out his in-game loot isn't worth a hill'a'beans in this crazy (real) world. The police refused to help him, stating that his virtual possessions "are devoid of monetary value." Ouch.
So there you have it. The gates are open to invade Second Life and steal as much as possible because according to Minnesota police, it isn't a crime. Go wild, kids.
