Drumshhh Rock Band Drum Pads
Available: Now
Price: $8.99 - $29.99 + Shipping

It’s no secret that the G4tv.com staff loves us some Rock Band. Our neighbors… not so much. The drums make a lot of noise when we’re really jamming away and the thin walls of our tiny apartments don’t do much to help. Drumshhh Accessories has an easy-to-use aftermarket mod that aims to cut down on noise and increase the rock!

PROS:

  • Reduces Drum Noise by 40% to 60%
  • No Loss In Drum Sensitivity
  • High-Quality Foam
  • Removable

CONS:

  • You Could Probably DIY With Enough Effort
  • Not Reusable

There have been a lot of suggested solutions to the volume problem with Rock Band’s drums. We’ve seen people draping socks over their sets or wrapping their drumstick tips in felt, but they aren’t very reliable and affect the drum sensitivity.

Drumshhh thankfully retains all of the sensitivity of the drum set while managing to work as advertised. They won’t be silent, but there is a definite reduction in volume. We experienced about a 40% to 60% reduction depending on the song we were playing.

The pads are stylish and there are a few different choices for you to choose from. They differ in price, however, so you’ll have to ask yourself what pattern you want and what you want to pay.

The foam is very high quality material and the pads are machine-cut to the exact specifications of the Rock Band drums. This alone makes us prefer this product over any DIY-solution.

Be careful, however, as the adhesive makes this a one-time use. Once removed, the adhesive won’t be strong enough to stick to the drum. Upon removal, the drum will need to be cleaned, but will not damage the original drum head.

If you have Rock Band and want to reduce the noise level of the drums, Drumshhh is offering a great product with a professional level of quality. Look them up at www.drumshhh.com.
