Eighties one-hit-wonders The Romantics sued Activision a while back for because the Guitar Hero Rocks the Eighties sound-a-like version of their song sounded too-darn-alike.
Word comes from Destructoid.com that Activision's team of attorneys have smacked the "What I Like About You" band back into obscurity: A federal judge in Detroit denied The Romantics pleas to have the song removed from the game, then Activision was like, "buh-bye."
Or, they were more like: "Activision is pleased with the ruling and thinks that the case is without merit...Respect for artists is an important value of the company and Activision has a long history of supporting artists from a range of entertainment fields. The company believes videogames represent a growing opportunity for the music industry to reach new audiences and a strong source of potential license revenue for both bands and music publishers."
