According to Reuters, Nepal's state-run airline deals with problems with their jets by sacrificing goats to appease Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god.
Our first thought was "we will never fly that airline." But then we re-considered.
After all, Nepal's airline still has mechanics fixing the planes, but it also respects the spiritual side of air-travel. That's what we call covering your bases! Plus, we're big fans of Akash Bhairab and often sing his/her praises at the top of lungs. Usually we're drunk.
We will never fly through Nepal on anything but a Akash-blessed plane!
According to the airline: "The snag in the plane has now been fixed and the aircraft has resumed its flights," said Raju K.C., a senior airline official. So it's a happy ending.
