UPDATE: It turns out this story is completely wrong and the article is fake. So to the four Sonic fans left on the planet, TheFeed apologizes.
In a Spanish interview with Smash Brothers Brawl director Masahiro Sakurai, he revealed that Sonic the Hedgehog is already in the game, but they are waiting for SEGA's final approval. Since the game is almost done, Sakurai has given SEGA until July 26th to approve.
Let's hope SEGA agrees because Mario, Sonic, and Solid Snake in Smash Brothers Brawl would be the greatest thing ever.
We'll already see Mario and Sonic in the aptly titled Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games this November on the Wii, so hopefully SEGA will allow Sonic to brawl it out in Smash. Apparently not, though. Would have been cool...
