Print images exactly
Eddy from Seaside, Calif., called asking how to print images so that they look exactly how they display on his monitor. He has a Sony Artisan Reference System monitor, Pantone Spyder, and Adobe Photoshop CS.
Basically, the selection of colors available for your monitor, camera, and printer are all very different. Since you already own all the tools of the trade, stop trying to tweak perfect images. Find a bad image that prints perfectly and work backwards to find the balance you need.
At the end of the show, Angela Lashaway wrote it with some more advice for Eddy.
Angela says Eddy needs to profile his printer with color-management software and use this profile to print from Photoshop. Angela recommends MonacoEZcolor or GretagMacbeth Eye-One Color.
Dry Creek Photo can also profile Eddy's printer for a fee if he sends them a printed color chart.
Thanks for the advice, Angela.
