joushua gears of war 2 will definetily not win game of the year next year, the 360 won but the main one that counts is the 2-hour long spike tv videogame awards in december,thats the main one thats gonna count,and gears and the 360 dont have any balls and neither do you.

The reason Bioshock didn't win this year is probably because people are getting tired of hearing about it. Also, it wasn't a big surprise Halo 3 won, I mean, Halo 3 is the reason most people buy a 360 (in my opinion). Also, next years game of the year winner will probably be Spore because it isone of the most highly anticipated games of all time. Its possible it could be the biggest game of the year, even over MGS4.

littlebigplanet is most likely going to win at the spike videogame awards,it brings something new,how many games do you know that are like that,and the reason why 360 won is because the ps3 games havent came out yet,but by the time the spike videogame awards come out in december most of the games would already be out which will raise ps3 sales enough to outsell 360.

no xbox 360 still has way more exclusive games than the ps3 and way more exclusives coming in the future. plus with FF XIII coming to the 360 square enix fans cant complain about that anymore. there are a few exclusives that are coming out for the ps3 that im actully looking foward too but microsoft definetly had much more exciting things reavealed at E3 (except for the avatars, that is kinda a let down, there copying the Wii.) unlike the ps3 in the past the 360 has released games that made sony fans buy a 360 just to play them like halo 3 and fable. the future is looking better for the ps3 but the 360 has been ahead this whole time and is still looking strong when it comes to gaming. the only reason ps3 sales might get any better is because more people need blu ray players. although the 360 is going to get one soon. the 360 is a better gaming console in general.

the ps3 has the "entertainment aspect" which makes worth more bang for your buck. but the grapics arnt that much more amazing, the only time the ps3 graphics stand out is when there is alot going on on the screen.

also 9kinggamer4life9 your wrong!!! spike tv is for men! although little big planet is going to be awesome its not really what there looking for. dont get me wrong it looks totally original and fun but mgs4 is more likely to win. as much as id like to see halo 3 win again i highly doubt it because its beent out too long. GTA4 is more likely too because it got a perfect review on IGN, X-PLAY and gamespot. better than mgs4 did.

I dont give a damn who won. Each game on there respective console gives them a unique experience(except for GTA4 cause its multi) SSBB gives people the chance the living crap out of mario. MGS4 gives people fantastic story and awseome stealth action. But Halo made FPS what they are today. Regenerating health, Halo. Great Multiplayer experience. Halo. Yes, Halo made almost everyone copy it, but I dont care. As long as everyone has there fun then that what its all about. I dont care what you say. I dont care if you think Sony is better or Nintendo or Microsoft. As long as they Make Games that give people happiness and joy, then by the GAMEPAD I USE I WILL PLAY!

My GT is zEC Renegade. This is to all people that say Halo didnt deserve. FUDGE YOU. It won and whining like a bitch is not going help. Saying Xplay sucks cause it won only gets you imaginary punch in the face by me. They ALL suck in a way. Halo 3 is repetitive. Call of Duty 4 also. and MGS4 has cutscenes UP THE ASS. When I play a game I dont wanna wait 30 freakin minutes to play a game. And the people who tell them to "sUck deEr NUtS" deserve a punch to the jaw cause your even more of a jerk. I may be 14 years old but Jesus Christ I'm more mature! I havent played a GTA game and i've watched my cousin play it and its more realistic. Now on to next years awards. RPG seems like a tough one beacause of Fable 2 and Fallout 3(Too Human I count as action) are both extremly fun. I gues FF13 has a chance but it seems more like a 2010 game( which will be pwned then by Mass Effect 2 cause the 12th Commandment states" Thou shall vote Bioware games as Best RPG at G-Phoria

pt2)The party game I vote for the next Guitar Hero cause of the Custom Songs( I'm holding auditions for a Tribute band to Code Monkeys Called GameVision. I need a vocalist[jerry], a Bassist[Black Steve] and Band Douche[Todd] Ill be Dave)the new Call of Duty lost my vote cause of WWII and delaing 24 even more because jack will have his voice in the game. i do agree that resistance 2 will probably be a better shooter than GoW2, as i loved resistance and honestly did not see what all the hype was about the first gears. It was good, but no where near close to halo, cod4, resistance, etc. I think though, that depending on when the awards are done, since its release date is Q3/09 right now, bioshock 2 has a very very very good shot at topping resistance 2. im finally playing the first one and it is just insanely good.

oh and for all those who didnt think halo 3 should have won. here is my stance on it. I didnt vote for it for best shooter, but best all around game i did. You have to remember that it had some HUGE innovations. Not only was the multiplayer magnificent as always, as was the solo campaign(or 4 player co-op via live or same console), but it added amazing features like the forge, which for the first time allowed users to play each others' created content and game types; also the video and screenshot feature which has yet to be done again by anyone else on that level. Nothing like being able to go back and show your friends that ridiculous sticky that you have been bragging about, or figure out how u were killed when you had no idea where the shot came from. It really was quite an innovate game. and they have continued to add content on a regular basis.

ya halo was definetly an inspiratation to many. but i have to disagree with on resistance 2. there are way more people looking foward too GOW2. its would seem as though it is being as hyped as halo3. i think GOW2 has a slightly better chance. personally im looking foward to both, but if u look at other forums there is way more hype about GOW2, hopefully fans wont be let down.(although onlie gameplay looks amazing)

I don't think any game will be as hyped as Halo 3. But I am looking forwars to both as well. But If I had to pick. I would root for resistance 2 if only so that there could be more competition between Microsoft and Sony. More hype does not mean it will be better. I personally think that MGS4 was better then Halo 3 and Halo 3 recieved a lot more hype. Point is there are a lot of games on the horizon and I think the competition is only going to improve. Look at the potential for next year: GOW2, GOW3 (maybe), Rez2, Fable2, LBP, Infamous, MAG(maybe 2 years) FFXIII + FFXIII versus (definitely 2 years) ect. The list goes on and the potential is limitless

yeah im pretty stoked about the upcoming list of games. I was actually bored at work today and made myself a spreadsheet of all 360, ps3, and pc games coming out that have definite release dates already. goes basically from now to the beginning of 09, and it looks like i am going to be pretty busy haha.

Goldeneye preceeded Halo and set the standard way back in the day. Even though it can be kind of hard to play anymore it still set the standard for what FPS's would become. And all you 360 fanboys that want to trash sony, well ur all a bunch of little bitches and I bet you'd all like to suck it.

Resistance 2 is going to be better because just by judging on the trailer it makes you think what going to happen next,and the gameplay was awesome and it wasnt even the final touch of the game,but gears of war 2 still looks pretty sick.

I agree it is fun to laugh at those people who show an obvious inability to argue and just say "Us right, you suck, you are a fanboy because you disagree with us." It's very easy and amusing to show them up by typing something that actually makes sense. Though it is nice that some people (on both sides of almost every argument) can use facts to support their point and can actually argue. They are the most fun people to argue with.

And just a reminder a long post does not mean it is a good point (best example, unforgiver1994 in the GOTY forum. It's the one with all capital letters). This comment is not directed at everyone but you know who you are (Joshua360, Chris1058, but mostly you unforgiver1994).
