  • SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3

Posted: 4 hours 28 mins ago

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

SOCOM returns in fine form to the PSP, thanks to a solid presentation and playable controls. The game sports some of the most extensive multiplayer options of any portable game and makes great use of the PSP's power. Even better is the inclusion of full-on co-op play through the main story line.

  • BioShock 2

Rapture, Andrew Ryan's failed utopia under the sea, remains one of gaming's most compelling worlds to inhabit, and BioShock 2 does a great job of drawing you in and making you feel right at home. But while it certainly feels good to be back in Rapture and there is plenty to enjoy here, the game doesn't quite pack the same punch as the original.

White Knight Chronicles delivers single player role-playing and online co-operative questing. Neither is pretty, but it gets the job done.

While history is filled with examples of when mixing two seemingly different things leads to something special (e.g. peanut butter and chocolate), KrissX's word game blend is an incongruous mess.

  • Dante's Inferno

Though Dante's Inferno doesn't change the landscape of the action game, I won't fault it for doing something so many other games have obviously failed at. Visceral Games identified gameplay we love, successfully transplanted it to somewhere new, added a few welcomed wrinkles to the formula and delivered it before Kratos's return. Dante's Inferno...

MAG (Massive Action Game), Zipper Interactive's follow-up to the SOCOM series, isn't free of disappointments, but it's one of the most impressive shooters to grace gaming consoles in years.

Glory of Heracles marks the US debut of a long-running Japanese RPG series. It's definitely got an old-school feel to it, but is that to its detriment?

  • Death By Cube

Square Enix isn't exactly a publisher that's known for "space shoot ?em up" games. Yet, some unlikely games make a compelling argument for considering a new shooter bearing the Square Enix brand; however, if you did that, you might end up buying Death by Cube and that would be a big mistake.

  • No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle marks a return to the twisted burg of Santa Destroy, the place where geeky assassin Travis Touchdown gets dragged back to prove he's the best hired gun in the world. It's a gleefully violent romp that Wii owners shouldn't miss.

  • Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars

    Posted: January 25, 2010 | 41 Comments

    Average User Rating 5 / 5

A US release of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom had a very slim chance of happening due to complicated licensing issues. Capcom worked through the legal flak to secure a Western release and added new characters and online play during the localization. Will TvC live up to the Versus Series pedigree?

As the supposed spiritual successor to Squaresoft's 1998 PS1 classic Xenogears, Sands of Destruction has the pedigree, but not necessarily the polish. However, ultimately, it manages to transcend its quirky shortcomings to deliver an entertaining RPG.

In February, the world's greatest Winter Olympic athletes will descend on Vancouver for 16 days of competition and with that comes the obligatory licensed game.
