  • Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

    Posted: 2 days ago

    Average User Rating 5 / 5

Disney and Square Enix make for the weirdest pairing since Danny Glover fought a Predator in a sensible pair of herringbone slacks. Kingdom Hearts series newcomers might be left in the dust by the hefty mythos, but inspired storytelling and deep, deft combat make Birth by Sleep a niche JRPG game with mass appeal.

  • Elemental: War of Magic

    Posted: 4 days ago

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

Elemental: War of Magic is a fantasy-themed strategy game for PCs that doesn't feel quite done. This buggy, hard-to-understand game is made all-the-more frustrating by the fact that there's nothing else out there quite like it.

  • Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City

    Posted: 4 days ago

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

After a slightly disappointing encore, Etrian Odyssey is back in fine form with new classes and interesting ocean exploration mechanic. And while it's as tough as ever, a number of refinements also help make it the most accessible entry to date.

  • Start the Party!

    Posted: 4 days ago

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

Start the Party! is a collection of 20 mini-games that utilize Sony's new motion controller, the PlayStation Move. Unfortunately, the game is repetitive, boring and unimpressive. Whatever you do, don't start this party. You'll be sorry.

  • Tumble

    Posted: 4 days ago

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

Tumble might not pack the kind of frenetic and explosive punch (or volume of levels) found in the Boom Blox series, but if you're looking for a solid introduction to your new Move controller, and you want to stretch the old noggin' a bit, Tumble definitely stacks up.

  • Kung Fu Rider

    Posted: 4 days ago | 2 Comments

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

Kung Fu Rider is game designed for fans of wacky, Japanese gaming. You play as a harried salary man or his sexy secretary, and you slide down steep hills on city streets on an office chair, avoiding obstacles, pulling off tricks and running from gangsters. It's colorful, strange and wacky --too bad it isn't fun.

  • Sports Champions

    Posted: 4 days ago | 9 Comments

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

Sports Champions is a collection of six sports mini-game bundled with the new Sony motion controller PlayStation Move. There's a surprising amount of depth in this hardcore sports simulator, but, unfortunately, it's not enough to make it a must play.

  • Dead Rising 2: Case Zero

    Posted: 5 days ago | 16 Comments

    Average User Rating 4 / 5

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero is the prequel to Dead Rising 2 and fills in some of the backstory between the original Dead Rising and DR2. Set in the tiny desert town of Still Creek, Case Zero introduces gamers to DR2's protagonist, motocross star Chuck Green, and his infected but as-yet-unturned daughter, Katey, as they try to survive in a world...

  • Metroid: Other M

    Posted: August 27, 2010 | 457 Comments

    Average User Rating 4 / 5

As the 11th game in the series, Other M is a bizarre collaboration between the Metroid series co-creator Yoshio Sakamoto and Team Ninja of Ninja Gaiden fame. Indeed, "odd pairings" becomes the common thread throughout the game and its clashing dualities extend to the storyline, control scheme and onscreen action.

  • Shank

    Average User Rating 5 / 5

You don't realize how much you've missed side-scrolling beat-'em-ups until Shank sinks its dull prison blade into your gut. Wildly addictive action and smooth controls complemented by a pulpy grind house style, make Shank a must-play for fans of the classic genre.

  • Ys Seven

    Posted: August 25, 2010 | 7 Comments

    Average User Rating 4 / 5

Falcom's seventh proper Ys game welcomes series newcomers with its self-contained story while pleasing JRPG fans with winks and nods to past games. It's got all the makings of a classic: staggering boss battles, quick and smooth combat, and a red-haired hero. Will its old school roots hold it back or lift it to handheld glory?

  • Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

    Posted: August 20, 2010

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is the video game you never knew you always wanted to play. Who would have guessed that last-generation video game sex symbol Lara Croft would come out swinging with an action-crammed co-op action-puzzle-platformer hybrid that absolutely kicks ass? In short: Guardian of Light offers more pure fun than many...

  • Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days

    Posted: August 17, 2010 | 8 Comments

    Average User Rating 3 / 5

Scumbag criminals Kane and Lynch reunite for what was supposed to be a simple arms deal in Shanghai. The new shaky-cam presentation adds to the overall emphasis on "grittiness" and realism, though little else in Dog Days benefits from the same sort of inspired choices. A thoroughly enjoyable but short ride, by Dogs Days's end you will believe...

  • Monday Night Combat

    Posted: August 16, 2010 | 11 Comments

    Average User Rating 5 / 5

Monday Night Combat hasn't generated nearly as much buzz as its Summer of Arcade sisters Castlevania, Limbo or Lara Croft, but its surprisingly engaging brand of class-based, competitive multiplayer could earn it a much-deserved spot as the season's XBLA sleeper hit.
