G4’s Trademark “2.0” Capabilities Add Chat, Voting and User Feedback
to Most Watched Videogame Series on TV
LOS ANGELES, June 22, 2007 – Some videogame truths are indisputable: barrels and crates are always plentiful, games based on movies are usually awful and it’s better to be a game player than game spectator. G4 can’t improve all the bad games, but it is making sure “X-Play” viewers can do more than just watch. “X-Play,” the most-watched videogame series on television, is introducing a suite of on-screen interactive features, making the series as interactive as the games it reviews. For the first time, on-screen chat, polls, trivia and more make viewers a part of the action as “X-Play” hosts Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb deliver brutally honest reviews of the latest games to hit store shelves. The newly interactive version of “X-Play” premieres Monday, June 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, only on G4.
The new interactive features of “X-Play” include:
• Chat – Adam and Morgan may get more screen time, but the chat feature makes sure the viewers get the last word. Visitors to can log on and join the interactive discussion at http://www.g4tv.com/xplay.
• Polls – This is the place where viewers can make their opinions known. What are most-underrated games? The most over-rated? The games that are worth your hard-earned cash and the games that belong in the bargain bin? Participants can vote at http://www.g4tv.com/xplay and watch the show for live updates on the results.
• Rankings – While Adam and Morgan review the best games, the rankings feature reports the best players. Constantly updated Xbox Live and PS Online rankings are delivered directly to the TV screen, giving top players the top billing they deserve.
• Trivia – A variety of questions continually test viewers gaming knowledge and expertise. From the number of levels in Super Mario to the names of the characters in Gears of War, the trivia component tests every viewers’ knowledge of the games they love.
• The Feed – The “2.0” features include the latest-breaking videogame news. If it’s important to gamers, it’s in this special “X-Play” version of The Feed.
